I'm a big fan of the old-school sound. I love it when I get results like this. I can say it's one of my favorite tracks of this year. A little acid, a pumped-up bass, some strings, shiny bells, stabs, and a vocal that transports you back in time.

Perfectly setting the tone for what’s to come the imprints first release welcomes two key players in contemporary house onto it’s roster, namely Hot Creations’ very own Patrick Topping and Richy Ahmed, whilst also shining light on one of the promising up and coming acts this year, Francisco Allendes.
Patrick Topping’s ‘Yes Chief’ takes the lead on the package with throbbing subs and shuffled snares running alongside electro arpeggios and old school rave chants before Richy Ahmed’s ‘Visions’ lays down robust rhythms, a fluttering bass line and hooky vocal shots with a steadily blossoming dynamic.

Label-heads Pirate Copy step up next with ‘House Music’, as the name would suggest laying down a straight dance floor focused house groove and instilling some hip-house vocal accompaniments before Francisco Allendes’ ‘House Train’ closes out the package on a stripped-back vibe, focusing on raw percussive and spiralling bass swells.

The team at Underground Audio are very excited to welcome Ovidi Adlert to the family with his four track whopper “90s Movement” EP. With his roots in Valencia, Spain, Ovidi is a household name in the tech-house industry. With continued support from the biggest names in the game, and a stupendous catalogue of highly ranking music, he has gained a formidable place within the genre. This month, we are proud to present four original tracks from Ovidi that are jam packed with energy. 

Opening with the EP’s namesake “90s Movement”, the name immediately begins to make sense. Featuring sounds truly reminiscent of the 90s era, the track offers big kicks, drum-machine inspired percussion, and hip-hop vocals that pack attitude. A heavy bassline pushes through the track, resonating and adding more intensity, making this track a hard-hitting weapon. 

Following in second is “Allright”, which mirrors the in-your-face intensity of the former. Aggressive bass patterns topped with 90s inspired synths and vocal snaps give this track a distinctive underground feel. Adding an unmistakeable 90s shuffle and signature acid synth, the third track “Freedom” introduces a more stripped-back beat, with the easily recognisable words of Martin Luther King complimenting the deep, low slung bass. 

Closing the EP is “Look At That Funk”, a fast-moving, funky, tech-house roller. Still bringing through the signature attitude of the tracks in this EP, this energetic number rolls through a rollercoaster of tension throughout the track. Suspended synths and hypnotic buildups complimented by powerful drops gear this track perfectly for the big warehouse raves.

We are now in the middle of June and it’s time to celebrate big time, as Barcelona’s biggest week of the year has arrived again. Off Week is the most important electronic event during summer – with Sonar Festival as background – and elrow Music is ready to deliver its traditional Off Week compilation. However, this time ERM is happily joining forces with one of the biggest platforms of the industry: Kaluki. elrow & Kaluki present Off Week BCN V/A is a two-part instalment presented by the two most dynamic platforms in the tech-house scene right now. The first part of the compilation is ERM106th reference, compiled again by the label’s big man, De La Swing, and is an astonishing five-tracker of dancefloor bangers, with tunes by some of the most prolific artists of the genre. Opening track “Deepa” sees Ramon plant his feet firmly on the techno floors with an incandescent relentless assault on the senses , pounding kicks and staggered rises pull you in as the industrial rhythms take the track to beyond madness with its filtered vocal drops. 

“Club Pirate” takes things into more tech house territory but still retains the heavy hitting club feel Ramon is renowned for. Again we are treated to a chopped vocal that meanders around a dark and hypnotic heavy kick workout. 

Closing the EP we enlist Vinicius Honorio to remix “Club Pirate” and he delivers a super charged electronic masterpiece akin to the sounds of Maceo Plex and the likes, a fine remix on a mighty fine debut from Ramon Tapia
