While carefully handling their respective careers, postponing then their obvious collaboration, Möd3rn trio's members have capitalized its desire and now deliver its mere substance, in the rightest moment, where, simply, all the distant forces converge.
The six daring, expert hands merge now into a unique entity, unanimously moving within the same effort towards techno music. Of the distinct identities merely remains the ethereal, synthetic essence devoted to the group, and the common musical passion that leads it. The formula is elaborated freely: each one's adjunctions -subtle keys, nervous chords, underground blows, rhythmical uproars- pour into a thick maelstrom, opaque, condensing Detroit's grieving sensibilities as well as last decade's bewildering cacophonies. The potion obtained is irresistible, an ecstatic hybrid, prodigiously actual, that renders all the genre's diversity and dynamism.
Chance intertwined their paths and now the three companions celebrate both the friendship that resulted and the good fortune that has driven it, by improvising live together as one faceless, solid body agitated by the urge of dance and music, composing the material that shall be processed later on to form their eponym label's releases.

Actually, we think it’d be pretty chill if he took the reigns on the “the world’s unique soundtrack” and made it sound a little more like this velvety, floor-shaking, party-starting, spooky, hypnotic house track GHOST he delivered us on the back of a singing Alec Ounsworth from Indie Rock Band CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH.

We're honouring another legend on board this month. It's the artist that made 'A Thousand Nights', 'Nightcolors' and so many other recognisable anthems and whether it's Time Warp or Studio 80, he'll rock the hell out of it. This month's SEKOIA Podcast is by Gregor Tresher. 

His sets often differ from his productions, that tend to be a bit more on the deeper side. Playing mostly prime time spots at his gigs, that doesn't really come as a surprise. But for this podcast, we asked Gregor to take a step back and go deep. You can read more about this difference between producing and playing in the interview printed in DJ Mag, released today. Online version will follow soon!

"Here's my mix for the SEKOIA podcast series including some of my current favorite tracks and also a couple of gems that you might not have heard for some time. I tried to create a little rise and fall as I would do in a club-set, but kept it on a more deep and moody level this time - to make it enjoyable for a nighttime car-ride or listening on headphones. SEKOIA Podcast #021 - Gregor Tresher

the significant novelty of kyoka‘s first full length album »is (Is Superpowered)« is that she uses her own voice much more often than usual, in the form of short snippets as well as longer sung melodies. these elements are set and arranged as if they were an autonomous instrument. sometimes these voices give the impression of being a babelesque language mix-up, or even a kind of cryptic message for the listener like found in the song »meander«.

the production process of the record was heavily supported by her label mates frank bretscheider and robert lippok, which is, in this way of forming a production team, a unique constellation in the history of raster-noton. whereas lippok focused on preserving the roughness and complexity of kyoka‘s compositions, bretschneider concentrated on refining them regarding their fluidity and focus. both tried to keep the vitality and hyperactivity of the initial tracks without losing their distinctive eccentricity.

although kyoka‘s sound is often kind of chaotic, it is by no means stressful but rather energizing and easy to enjoy. the only exception to this can be found in »piezo version vision«, the noticeably roughest track of the record. her particularly progressive style is best reflected by the song »re-pulsion«, a rolling groove combined with unusual clicks and snares and topped with crazy sounding voice fragments.

the album thus further deepens what was already initiated with her first ep »iSH«, released as part five of raster-noton‘s unun series. it presents a stylistically broader spectrum of kyoka‘s music but at the same time exhibits the fresh and positive, sometimes even childlike attitude she is already known for. this eventually renders »is (Is Superpowered)« a perfect extension of our label catalogue.

Josh Wink, the man behind Ovum Recordings, has been a treasured member of the worldwide house and techno community since the early 90s. 

Throughout his long-running career, the American DJ and producer has released four albums and released on labels such as R&amp;S and Strictly Rhythm, the latter providing a home for 1995's acid smasher 'Higher State Of Consciousness'.

<p>Techno at it&#8217;s finest ! This is exactly the case with this release on Respekt Recordings by the label bosses Spektre! The original mix of &#8216;Erase The Tapes&#8217; builds with the trademark by Spektre while smooth dark drums and atmospheric elements are all over in this techno journey. The remix by Jon Rundell uses a hard drum loop providing by a smooth bassline. At the end Luigi Madonna takes control and that works just right in keeping the techno groove going. Not too much to say for this monster release by Spektre.</p>
