As Russia’s greatest exports in underground dance music, Julia Govor and Tripmastaz join forces to deliver ‘The Probability’ EP featuring the tripped out and ethereal techno cut ‘Equals Tree’.

Under his TMZ alias, Tripmastaz takes on a more techno-leaning motif to complement Julia Govor’s moody and evocative sound profile. Their debut collaboration shines with enveloping textures and infectious rhythms, showcasing their talents with an expertly crafted production. 

‘The Probability’ EP marks the first outing for both Julia and TMZ on Pan-Pot’s Second State imprint. It also features two more originals from the pair, including the breakbeat leaning ‘1-’ and the hard-hitting ‘Plus Two’. 

The digital release is out now, while the 12” will be released May 12.

Bedrock Digital is set to celebrate its milestone 100th digital single release in superb style with ‘Tracer’, the second single from Emerson, Digweed & Muir – a collaborative project of the highest order from three of the scene’s most respected creative mavericks, whose huge debut ‘Fanfare’ (Beddigi88) had fans everywhere begging for more. Between them, John Digweed and Nick Muir, producers of the finest electronic dance music, have been involved in many pivotal moments in the world of club music over the years and have in many ways helped to define genres & push the boundaries further. Their partnership has been one of electronic music's most fruitful pairings, creating a body of work that’s seen them become one of the world’s most highly regarded production duos. Joining forces with Detone boss Darren Emerson, who since his pioneering days with Underworld has remained at the forefront of the electronic scene across the last three decades for good reason, is a mission statement, showing that this illustrious trio are not resting on past laurels, but always developing themselves musically in exciting new directions.

Rather appropriately, in its original form ‘Tracer’ is an unmistakably heavyweight, pulsating, peak-time monster, loaded with menacing, fizzing, energetic, celebratory creative abandon. Meanwhile, Darren Emerson’s ‘Womb Mix’ develops ‘Tracer’ into an equally stunning, bombastic, stripped back, techno colossus, showcasing his supremely individualistic creative flair. In perfect juxtaposition to the trio’s versions, the dialled-back, low-slung, brooding throb of Ruede Hagelstein’s mesmerizing interpretation, bristling with unrivalled electronic detail, perfectly rounds what is an exceptional creative circle. 

In this day and age to not only survive as an independent label, but to flourish and constantly evolve, bringing forward and developing new and exciting talent to stand equally alongside established household names, is something that should be applauded. Anja Schneider’s Sous imprint has fast become a permanent home for Anja’s more experimental productions as well as providing her with the chance to bring some of her favourite artists to the label. In the last two years, we have enjoyed releases from Billy Turner, Madben, Mella Dee, Fort Romeau and most recently Markus Suckut. All of which have collectively bought a diverse palette of music to Sous.

Asio (aka R-Play) is a Parisian based producer who’s career quickly became noted in 2007 after he broke into the French techno scene with his tracks signed to Harthouse, Synewave and Suara. Anja brings this new name to Sous this October with 3 original cuts on his EP ‘Dada’.  Opening things is the title track ‘Dada’. Instantly we’re drawn into a groovy deep bass track with sparse percussion. As the various layers reveal themselves, a sinister energy grows. The track then explodes into life at the drop. ‘Last Day in Space’ is a subtle tribal groove. Swinging off beat hats keep time as the layers of melody and percussion fade into earshot. A track of light and dark where patience is rewarded by a huge payoff. 

Finally, ‘Sol Sol’ employs interesting FX to the drums creating a wonky feel from the off. Once the synths kick in the wonk gets much wonkier!

Renowned Frankfurt-based producer Anthony Rother delivers an otherworldly release on Rekids offshoot, Stranger in The Night.

Very few electronic music artists stand the test of time but German electro pioneer and visionary, Anthony Rother, is one of them. Whether running labels like Psi49Net, Stahl Industries and Datapunk or working alongside the likes of Sven Väth, DJ Hell and Kraftwerk’s Karl Bartos, Rother’s legacy stands tall. Having made recent appearances on DVS1’s Mistress or Danny Daze’s OMNIDISC, Rother now connects with Stranger In The Night, joining a tight roster of luminaries including King Britt, Fred P and label boss Radio Slave.

‘We Are The Future’ opens the package with sci-fi synths, a decaying vocal and arpeggiated highs, before ‘Super Future Metropolis’ continues the theme with ultramodern vocoding and industrial drum patterns. Following on, ‘The Message’ sweeps in with laser-like stabs and a leading lyrical sample until two new perspectives conclude the package: the multilayered ‘We Are The Future (D-Cut)’ with its intricate keys and a ‘Space Mix’ of ‘The Message’ which widens the audio journey with lightly flowing pads.
