collaborative project between Orphx & Ancient Methods.
Now, only a few weeks later, Danish Token representative Ctrls 

returns.
Movements EP contains 3 fierce new tracks. Mechanical rhythms, 

whip-crack electronic riffs, insistent robot vocals: Ctrls proved to 

master these sounds very well on his past EP’s and he only seems to 

perfect his skills on this 4th instalment.

Conventional? Never. Powerful? Always.

Ctrls - Sweep

Jimmy Edgar's magical multimedia empire Ultramajic continues its steady output of heady dance wares with a new drop from the enigmatic Aden. After a few very well-received releases from the main man himself, the label will welcome a slew of exciting new recruits to the roster in the year to come.

After a smoking hot white label on Ultramajic earlier in the year, Aden keeps the bar impossibly high for 2014 with a set of 4 extended pieces of house-fueled, techno-touched rollers designed for maximum euphoric impact. It's clear that seasoned (or at least extraordinarily talented) hands have crafted these dynamic tunes - they shine, bump, and soar in all the right places. It's no accident - the arrangements here are the results of a truly inspired mind. 

Heads who don't know yet will have a fun time following the clues and playing "guess who" but that's ultimately beside the point - the tracks stand firmly on their own as ultra-effective dancefloor tools loaded with memorable vocal hooks, heavy grooves and unstoppable club momentum. Inspired by Aden's own "mystical experiences", it isn't hard to imagine peak-timers getting sweaty and transcendental to these four hard-working, muscular belters. There is a top-notch precedent being set here, and it only makes it all the more exciting to see what Ultramajic conjures up for us in the near future.

ADEN "PART OF ME"

It’s now something of an overused trope to say the music coming out of Vancouver, BC sounds a) like the notoriously misty harbour town & b) amazing. Both are true, though. Labels like 1080p and Mood Hut (of which Local Artist is part of the crew) have carved out a sonic niche that is unmistakably theirs: left-of-the-dial dance music that is at once spry and smoked-out; evocative and untraceable; deep and featherlight.
 
The entire Feelings 12” carries these traits forward; a “Place” of warmth and comfort you want to be 24/7. Given our very own Bradley Zero has been one of the most prominent figures evangelising Thy Gospel of the Hut, and that his Rhythm Section label is fast garnering a rep for hazy jams of the highest quality, this crossover makes a lot of sense. Local, exported global.

Local Artist "Place I" - Boiler Room Debuts

Nuno dos Santos’ boutique label SoHaSo (shorthand for Something Happening Somewhere; although, sadly the same can no longer be said of Trouw) has been cruising steadily for the best part of two years now, but "Tonii" might just be the best thing committed to wax yet. Love Over Entropy's 12m original is sturdy with bright flourishes throughout, forever climbing and searching without resolve; techy without, y'know, being techy. 

This retouch comes from none other than Innervisions' main man, although  less overtly lovelorn than we've come to expect. He  twists the lead melody into something resembling a steel pan drum, backed by laser-guided synths pinging all around: a festival-sized breakdown held just at the precipice, never fully cresting. Dixon, you big tease.

The backing of Kerri Chandler isn't easy to come by, so it's no surprised Voyeur are rated so highly. 

We first got a taste of Benson Herbert and Leo Pickings' groove-licked house sound back in 2012 when they released the 'Blame It On The Youth' EP on MadTech, the sub-label of King Kerri's Madhouse Records. The man himself didn't stop at giving it the stamp of approval, though, applying his magic touch with a Club Mix.

Release Info: 
Moonwalk put the spotlight on exotic soundscapes in Fatima, a cinematic release with three original pieces, blending their usual lively electronic explorations with an oriental flair.

The title track commences with subtly rousing drums, gradually building up a melancholic groove, perched on a backdrop of warm pads and spiralling synths.

Another set of oriental-inspired percussion comes to life in Zed, a lengthy journey of winding pads and shimmery riffs. The wailing vocal makes for a distinctive sound bite, while blending in deftly with the aid of a dramatic lead merged in ethereal throbs.

Mosaic brings forth another apt fusion of electronic and otherworldly elements. The symbiosis between the two remains linear, with incidental swings to each side of the realm, proving the artists’ ability to steer through divergent moods and combine them into a unitary, curious composition.

Berlin based Voight Recordings are onto their seventh EP since launching in 2016, having featured the likes of Oliver Deutschmann, Flug, GoldFFinch and Hans Bouffmyhre on previous releases.

Original material this time comes from ALPI, an Italian duo who are making the right moves already putting out their accomplished sounds on Arnaud Le Texier’s Children of Tomorrow and legendary Dutch label Planet Rhythm. Also included is a quality remix from Milanese artist Wrong Assessment who is known for his M_REC LTD and Clergy contributions.

The DT:Premiere we selected is the last and digital only track “Mistaken Identity” that uses a strong broken beat funk to full effect. The haunting lead sound adds sensitivity, as it trails a hypnotic feeling alongside the droning textures to balance the powerful undertones. Energetic and engaging, this is a big one for us!

Citizen Kain & Nakadia - Rumble In The Jungle (Reinier Zonneveld Remix)

For Misfit Music’s 6th release, we welcome hotly tipped Dutch talent ‘Man With No Shadow’. A well known name on the Dutch scene for many years, but now making waves on the international stage with his stellar productions on hyped Techno labels such as 100% Pure, Off Recordings and Intacto. 

The Alanis EP kicks off with the title track.. Tough drums layer up with a pulsating percussive rhythm, while the atmospheric elements start lifting up through the mix. The lead synth takes over in the drops and brings the track into a whole new dimension. Label boss MONTEL has been playing this track in his sets for several months now and to devastating effect each and every time!
Next up Off Recordings head honcho Andre Crom steps up for remix duties.. Stripping the track back to its bare bones and unleashing one of the hardest hitting acid lines you’re likely to hear. He uses the original track’s breaks loop to create an atmospheric percussion build, before an array of banging Techno drums kick in. This remix is HEAVY!
Supporting track ’T-Funk’ is a heady slice of vibey basement Techno.. Driving and hypnotic it really is one to set the mood in a dark room and in those wee small hours!
Bonus track Alanis ‘Dub’ offers a more stripped back version to the lead cut.

Big things continue to happen for MONTEL and Steve Boyd’s Belfast based label. Their ethos of forward thinking House & Techno music is a shining example of true club music!
