Maximilian Lenz, known by his stage name WestBam, is a German DJ and musician from Germany. He is the co-founder of the record label Low Spirit.
						
Klaus Jankuhn, is a German record producer and musician, considered a pioneer in the early German techno scene. He mostly worked for the artists of the rave label Low Spirit, producing artists such as WestBam, Marusha or DJ Dick. Together with WestBam he also founded the project Members of Mayday.

If you joined us at our first Monki & Friends session of the year back in February, you will already have been introduced to the upfront tones of emerging techno producer Billy Turner. He’s been getting a hefty load of support from the Radio 1 DJ in this time, both on tour as a regular fixture of Monki & Friends and he’s also got a release on the label of the same name about to drop this very week. 

He’s also gained the support of another respected name, Skream, who’s signed two EPs to his label Of Unsound Mind. These are packed with peak time killers that perfectly showcase Turner’s adeptness at building a gritty and powerfully engaging beat. 

While Turner’s output is increasingly garnering the respect of his peers, we’re also getting equally behind his sound here in Farringdon. Ahead of his Room Two set alongside Luke Slater and Lucy on 26/08, we got in touch with Turner to properly introduce him on the blog.  What’s more, the upcoming DJ has also delivered a mix to showcase his unremitting production output with a mix peppered with a string of his own unreleased white labels.

2017 moved so fast, I could hardly believe it was once again time to prepare for our favorite time of the year, our return to Black Rock City, my 4th time in a row. Once again I was given the privilege of playing the bus with so many artists I respect and admire.

Being that this was Robot Heart's 10 year anniversary, I wanted to do something special. I have wanted to play a live set of all original music for quite some time, and decided this was the perfect opportunity to do it. So I sifted through all of my projects, old and new, finding the ones that I felt would resonate. Finally I came away with over an hour of brand new unreleased material including some collabs with some special friends (Thugfucker, Hands Free, and Dance Spirit). It was truly an honor performing this set to the Robot Heart family during the Man Burn, a moment I will never forget. I hope it resonates with you in some way.

Steffen & Stefan aka HANNE & LORE met 10 years ago at an event in their hometown Herford and started to spend studio time together. Soon after, the song “An der Waterkant”, released by Super Flu’s label Monaberry, became their breakthrough as a producing duo.
It was the kickoff to a journey of countless memorable parties, festivals and after hours that created music released on many different labels along the way.
For the 10 year anniversary, they asked 10 amazing friends and colleagues to reinterpret one of the tracks which developed into a wonderful collection of finest dance music by the likes of Andhim, Tube&Berger, Schories, Glitz, ZDS, Aka Aka, Lexer, David Jach, Ole Biege and Dompe. Hanne & Lore`s own label Heulsuse will release it on December 8 2017.

The collection begins with the deep, techno inspired piece 'Ma Di Tau' from Greek artist Nick Varon. The Hernan Cattaneo favourite dazzles with tough beats, chunky grooves and an astral ambience that becomes irresistible hypnotic over the seven minute journey. Next up Ewan Rill and Loveski continue on a funky, dance floor minded plane with 'Illuminao'. Mystical atmospheres, indistinct vocal gates and a romping groove set the piece in motion before a lovely melodic apex ensues. The collection's third selection finds Hans Seance returning to the label with 'The Purge'. The Indian artist has delivered a deep, pulsating progressive cut with delicate arps and distinctive stabs. Smooth chord changes during the main break shift the narrative from meditative to emotive before the kick drops for a smooth finale.

At the halfway point we have Federico Monachesi making his Movement Recordings debut. The Argentinean artist presents his latest studio creation 'Chrysocolla' which shifts the collection closer to peak time territory with its driving groove, firing percussion and wavering, atmospheric resonance. Next up is one half of the Some Little Things duo Leandro Moyano, who presents the latest from his new After Burn moniker. 'Night Dance' proves to be a standout with its organic percussion, dusty motifs and soulful melodies. Definitely one for a summer day time event. The release concludes with Movement Recordings artist Stergios Sigma returning for his fourth appearance following a contribution to the label's 'Technical Progress' Vol. 7 compilation. The Greek artist's latest studio creation 'Flavours of Death' comes in dark and haunting with a real nose for the dance floor. Dramatic and daring, it's an eight minute journey through brooding tones, ghostly vocals and spine tingling arps. No doubt the best production of Stergios' career and thus a perfect way to cap off another excellent exclusives collection from Movement Recordings.

Mon Groove interpretation is random and dark in places, almost fooling the listener into thinking it’s gonna get nasty at points; but the groove rescues the mood and gets heads back together again. More original sounding stuff.
