UK house legend Terry Francis drops his first vinyl release in almost a decade on our very own Default Position record label.

Well known for his long running residency at Fabric London, Francis was seminal in the rise of tech-house and also the driving force behind Wiggle – a party and label established over two decades ago.

Meanwhile, Default Position is a fresh imprint specializing in deep electronic music, with a roster spanning Sebastian Mullaert, Atmo Paritosh, Chook & Tim Oe, Chapman, Daniel(i) and founder Joseph S Joyce to name a few.

Up first, ‘Intistars’ features an imaginative array of samples combined with elements of funk for a subterranean cut driven by a compelling groove. Next, ‘Gasworks’ demonstrates dark and edgy Detroit bass combined with raw and tough production in a surefire dancefloor workout.

On the flip, Darren Roach provides an energetic rendition of ‘Gasworks’ with a purring bassline, mesmerizing atmospherics and ghostly echoes before label founder Joseph S Joyce takes us on a deep minimal journey in true keeping with the meditative spirit of Default Position.

Terry Francis - Gasworks will be released on November 12th as a limited edition vinyl only. Two tracks from the EP will also be made available in the brand new STEMS format developed by Native Instruments. Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell, and the new release is a techno focused EP from Eats Everything.

As his fans already know, Eats Everything is an eclectic artist who is hard to pigeon hole, and recently his chunky sound tailored for the dance floor has started to incorporate a lot more techno.

Having first broken onto the scene following EPs on labels like Dirtybird and Petz Records, he has quickly risen through the ranks adding labels like Relief, Hypercolour and Crosstown Rebels to his impressive back catalogue.

Eats Everything is a successful solo artist but many will also be familiar with collaborations working with people such as Justin Martin, Green Velvet, Tiga, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Catz 'n Dogz and Claude VonStroke.

His first Essential Mix for Radio 1 is still widely considered one of the best, and his techno tracks and remixes have already found homes on labels including Pan-Pots Second State and Matador's Rukus.

Having already rubbed shoulders with many of electronic musics most iconic artists and arguably becoming an icon himself, its only logical that Carl Cox would be the next person to welcome Eats Everything into the fold, with this being his debut on Intec.

First on the EP is Bettah which centres around the thump of a thickset kick drum and filtered synth stabs. All about the down beat, the tracks jackin groove and rigid sound is brought to live with the energy of the soulful vocals stabs. Straight up techno with a party vibe this track is sure to set the dance floor alight.

Appropriately titled No Seatin Available the second cut on the EP makes you want to be on your feet while punching the air to the beat. Using tom drums to build a rolling groove, the tracks raw funk and dark atmosphere will have people rushing to the dance floor from all parts of the club once this gets hold

Almost one year in the making, Bulgaria’s outstanding techno talent lands his return to Drumcode with a four-track EP. 

Timmo (aka Valeri Ivanov) doesn’t do things in half measures. Since the release of his excellent ‘System’ EP last year and ‘Muzik’, his inclusion on A-Sides Vol.6, he’s committed himself to crafting, refining and polishing a quartet of cuts inspired by the cosmic realms beyond planet earth. Titled ‘Meteorite’, its release marks 10 years since he first began producing and stakes its claim as a resounding career highlight with tracks already highlighting gigs for Adam Beyer at Tobacco Dock, Awakenings, Future Kappa Festival and Junction 2.

Beginning with the title track, the streamlined work throbs with a searing synthetic pulse. ‘Black Moon’ sees the EP land its first blow, kicking with a mixture of undulating synths and understated hoovers. ‘Spacetime’ stays true to its name delivering intergalactic techno vibes. ‘Cosmos’ concludes the work, taking us into extra-terrestrial dancefloor territory, with a barrage of trippy synth work and a melodic underbelly the makes the track both beautiful and heavy-hitting in equal measure.

Originally from Kochi prefecture, now residing in Tokyo. He started organizing his own nights in 2011 where he honed his dj skills. Playing anything from classic to cutting-edge tracks, his smooth mixing brings a unique tension and intonation to the ﬂoor through individualistic loops. By gaining his reputation through his dj sets and an insatiable pursuit of the techno scene led him to play regularly in Osaka as well as various venues in mid and West Japan. As an organizer he has brought over many prevalent modern techno artists such as Claudio PRC, Ness, Luigi Tozzi and Refracted, in order to evolve the techno scene in Japan. In 2014 he moved to Tokyo where he linked up with his main partner Kannabi to start the techno party Katharsis. In recent years his music production skills have ﬂourished, hence, set up the label Katharsis Recordings. The ﬁrst release is sprit 12 from the Label founder Masafumi Take and Kannabi. Also include Iori and Takaaki Itoh remix. He is recognized as the next generation to take up the techno mantle in Japan.

‘Camargue’ gets a fresh treatment on Drumcode, as a handful of techno’s finest give new life to an R&S classic.
Coming from the studio of CJ Bolland and Portuguese journeyman The Advent, the track was born out of a golden age of Belgium dance music and first released in 1992.

Enrico Sangiuliano delivers a trademark cosmic rework underlined by tribal bass stabs and twisted synth lines to accompany the famous riff. It’s an outstanding remake that’s already a big summer favourite for the Drumcode crew.

Dubphone comenzó en 2007 lanzando sus primeros trabajos en sellos como Monique Musique y Baile Musik y a través de los años recibió el apoyo de Lee Burridge, Hernan Cattaneo, Timo Maas, tINI, a: rpia: r, Maceo Plex, Blond: ish, Richie Hawtin, Bill Patrick.
