EMEX - Touch Infinity EP - Modular Expansion

For Getting Deeper's 66th podcast, we've got Bangalore's very own Rishi Sippy with a banging techno set that we are going to listen to over and over again. 

I remember a time around 5 years ago when I first listened to Rishi play live. It's really amazing to see how he has progressed, and much to my pleasant surprise he has acquired a very deep and intense taste in music that I absolutely needed to showcase on Getting Deeper. His live sounds are a lot more edgy than what I initially expected, and I absolutely love them. I like how he, unbound by genre orthodoxy, isn't afraid to play around with track tempos... with sets that can get really low and minimal if given a chance, only to rise up to the beat of a techno kick.

And so, I am really excited to publish a set by someone I have actually listened to live a lot of times. His set for Getting Deeper follows a traditional progression that I rarely hear nowadays. It begins with deep, emotional sounds that eventually get much darker, and after the second half, they get more heady and definitely more enchanting. A harder techno bassline makes a welcoming appearance at this point. 
The end result: A cushioning, beautifully haunting set that stays true its vibe. It gradually blooms into a dark, cosmic extravagance that is adored on Getting Deeper.

Aktuell liegen wir mit unserem Schiff vor der Küste Kambodschas und erfreuen uns den ruhigen Tagen an Deck. Ein laues Lüftchen, ein Hauch von Kommunismus - mit viel Rum :) und immer wieder Ausflüge in das Landesinnere sowie entspannte Stunden am Otres Beach. Dank unserem Crew Mitglied Jakob, können wir hier verweilen und unseren Gedanken nachhängen und Pläne schmieden. 
Nachdem wir im Sommer noch gemeinsam auf dem »Oberdeck der Liebe«, mit den Mädels und Jungs vom www.soundcloud.com/kollektiv-liebe, schwoften, so manches Fass Rum leerten und den weltlichen Verlockungen nachgingen, ja kurz danach verließ uns unser Freund Jakob. Er wollte die Welt sehen, Boden unter den Füßen spüren und nicht jeden Tag dem ollen Käpt’n über’n Weg laufen. Das klang fast nach Meuterei ;) aber eben auch nur fast. So entließen wir ihn in die Wildnis des Großstadt (hust) -dschungels bzw. in die ländliche Ödnis und rangen ihm das Versprechen ab, er werde berichten und mixen und dann zurück kommen. Bisher hat der brave Junge Wort gehalten: in jedem Hafen ne Andere, ausschweifende Parties bei Nacht und faules Rumgelungere bei Tag und ab und an ein paar Bilder seines dahinsiechens an Land. Es geht ihm also gut und zwar so gut, dass er uns mit einer Stunde feinster, tief gehender Musik erfreut. Nein, keine Folklore aus dem Ho Chi Minh Land und keine Zitate aus dem Manifest, versprochen - sondern feinste elektronische Klangschalen-Musik. Yo, so ist das wohl, wenn man zu lange an Land ist :) hört rein, kommentiert, herzt und teilt was das Zeug hält und erfreut eure FreundInnen und NachbarInnen und überhaupt ALLE mit dieser Musik und Liebe.

Kenya Arakama, a young music enthusiast, moved to Barcelona to continue her musical career, with the piano being her gateway from a very young age.

Her influences from Detroit and the United Kingdom blend perfectly with the most avant-garde sounds. Her love for vinyl and tracks from the 2000s is evident in everything she does. Kenya navigates the broad spectrum of electronic music with skill, from techno with raw elements to tribal rhythms with funk touches.

Berlin's Scheermann debuts on Mutual Rytm with deeply personal EP, ‘Viciosa’.

Scheermann is at the heart of the Berlin underground as a DJ/producer, but also working behind the scenes at the Intakt Berlin vinyl pressing plant, where he first met Mutual Rytm founder SHDW. As a resident of the Lorem Ipsum party series, he delivers cultured and compelling grooves, and is also an active member of the Wesertekk collective - supporting and pushing club culture to the forefront in more rural areas. His music comes from a deeply personal place, never chasing hype or headlines, and is usually found at home on his own imprint, SAMMLER. This new EP marks his first appearance away from the label as he unveils a collection of records crafted over five years, with each track representing different moments in his life.

‘Viciosa’ kicks off with paranoid vocals panning about as swinging, warehouse-ready drums pound heavily below. The gritty synth craft adds plenty of texture as filters build the vibe. ‘Placid Sin’ is even more intense with unresolved synths tripping you in a loopy state while coarse percussion and cantering drums march on. ‘Don't Care’ is a rave- ready cut that injects your soul with urgent synth energy over more minimal and moody drums. ‘Kano’ brings a more elastic rhythm with dubby undercurrents and sleek sonar pulses infusing it with mystery, while ‘Reika’ is a nimble cut with icy hi hats and curious synth notes layering in late night suspense. First digital bonus 'Resoclap' is a heavyweight swinger with dark, groaning voices, before the second digital bonus ‘Mizu’ provides a speedy and supple workout for body and mind.
