Feels Good sets off swiftly, merging prominent kick-clap combos with shimmering pulses throughout. It’s a real peak-time number, enhanced by Jem’s touching vocal offering, that showcases the stripped-back and ethereal theme of the single. Patrice Bäumel’s remix soon arrives and brings with it a poignant combination of celestial pads and rolling synth tones, as Jem’s stunning lyrical contributions magnify the track’s moving nature once more. 

Leeds born and now based in Ibiza, Audiojack have been at the forefront of electronic music for over a decade. In recent times the Gruuv-label founders have released their Isolation Tapes series to widespread industry acclaim, using music to provide a way out from the feelings of anxiety caused by lockdown and separation. UK singer-songwriter Jem Cooke is no stranger to Crosstown Rebels. First debuting on the label in 2018 alongside Made By Pete on So Long, it was later that year that Audiojack went on to remix the single. More recently, Jem collaborated with Damian on Into The Sun from his 2020 Flourish LP. A well-established member of the Crosstown Rebels family, Patrice Bäumel is one of Germany’s greatest exponents. Recent productions on Watergate Records and Systematic Recordings continue to showcase the emotive sound with which he’s become best known, whilst his performance at DGTL’s virtual festival last year marked another step in his ever- flourishing career.

Ahead of his highly anticipated self-titled debut album, Noir drops three new interpretations of album cut ‘Glass’, alongside Symbol, a singer songwriter producer from the Maryland/DC indie scene and one half of the Baltimore underground pop group Claire Hux. The package includes a remix from Reset Robot as well as new interpretations from Noir himself, all of which are distinct from the original album.
  
The Raw Club Cut offsets Symbol’s delicate vocal against a powerful, acid-flecked bassline that simmers patiently for the track’s duration, creating a tense tech-house thumper that crescendos beautifully with the addition of haunting strings and clattering snares. Reset Robot heads to darker territory, with a rolling bassline and moody stabs leading the way, while looped refrains of the vocal shimmer in the impending gloom. Tougher still is the Broken Glass Techno Dub. As the name suggests, this is pounding techno of the very highest order, with the distinct melody of the original all but replaced with rubbery, thunderous drums and scything synthetic stabs.

If you’ve at all sniffed around the Beatport charts at some stage in the last 12 months, then it’s highly likely that you’ll have been hugely impressed by a Berlin-based duo that go under the name ‘Mat.Joe’. SAMA got in touch with me because I was heavily supporting his track “Existence” from Kraftek in 2017.
We met at ADE and since then we have stayed in touch and I have received tons of great music from him.
After lots of back and forth and his enormous patience with my picky taste in music, we finally have his debut ready on Noir Music and I am truly proud of this 2-tracker.

Curiosity is the straight forward techno-belter with an infectious spoken vocal to compliment the builds and the mood of this awesome tune.

Indifference was the first track I signed and the pitchy bassline on this track not only convinced me but has the clubs going mental every time.

Even though SAMA is fairly new to the techno scene, his productions are spot on and sound like they were produced by someone with years of experience. I hope you love this 2-tracker as much as I do.
