We here at Second State are thrilled to bring you our new concept entitled HUB. While most labels these days are doing various artists releases to showcase the overall talent on their label, we thought it would be better suited for both our listeners and ourselves to break the mold and bring you a series of true collaborations. Each HUB release will feature a single artist teaming up with others from the Second State family to create an EP of authentic musical compromises. A place where multiple minds find a harmony somewhere outside their own identity and each collaboration conceives a genuinely unique artifact. With this, there is no one we would rather have kick off the series than the man behind the massive EPs; 'Throwl' and 'Doch', Stephan Hinz with HUB One!

Of course it would only be right to kick off the first track of the first HUB One way. An alliance with, Pan-Pot. "Tension' is a heavy number with just a few key elements, it's a slow lurking journey through a dark forest at night. As each bush and branch is pushed aside and every step inches closer to a destination unknown, the pressure builds. Soon, without knowing, you are in the depths of a jungle with no way back and only one decision. Keep going.

Stephan Hinz & Pan-Pot - Tension

Subtlety goes out the window as these thoroughbred Guidos serve up a tantalizing collection of club bangers!

Klasse Recordings label heads Luca Lozano and Mr Ho hook up here with a new EP on Creme Organization. They turn out one solo track each and two collaborative efforts and explore the sort of jacking, mystical house sounds you would expect from this established Dutch label. 

First up, 'Dripbox' - crafted by both producers - is raw and tough, with lots of analogue atmosphere, tripped out synths and muffled vocals. 'Bear Samurai' is then a solo effort from Mr Ho that marries droning sirens with gallivanting, lumpy drums and hiccuping percussive patterns. It's sythentica and metallic, reflective and shiny before the pair hook up again for 'Hot Trak', which is a more serene and bubbly deep house cut. The claps chatter, the cow bells get lively and the drums are super corrugated. Finally, Lozano gets even more raw and prickly, kinetic and textural with his closer 'Autonomika', which also comes complete with sci-fi melodies and a thick, dirty bassline that will destroy dance floors.

Make your way through Philipp Gorbachev's SoundCloud page and what you'll get is a load of searing techno cuts, the kind that mess with your head and knock you off balance. 

The Russian artist's numerously released on Cómeme, including 2013's trip-inducing 'Hero Of Tomorrow' EP, which had vocals from Mathias Aguayo, and last year's debut LP, 'Silver Album'. 

Taking a break from Cómeme, he's behind the first release on his label PG Tune, and 'Power Of The Funk' ensures things kick off with a major impact.

Storming his way back onto Drumcode Luigi Madonna closes off the Summer with a four track smasher that will see him welcome in Autumn with a bang. Each track contains the solid, raw drums that are the backbone to each track Luigi has conjured up. With a brooding undertone, the simplicity found in each track gives the lead lines and ideas more space to breath, which overall creates a unique and charismatic submission that can only be found from the Italian.

For decades they had waited to display such a delicate stone, one of such power, importance and might. Kings and queens throughout the ages had sought its presence amidst their collection of jewels but none had triumphed over its great defender, its ruler. It was bound to only one, and now in the place where he was born it sat perched in his corridor. The museum was open, the crystal was alive.

One of the most eagerly anticipated electronic albums of 2012 is finally released! After a series of groundbreaking singles: Pain In the Ass, Im Week and Ghetto Kraviz (featured here) Muscovite Nina Kraviz is set to release her eponymously titled debut artist album on Radio Slaves superb Rekids imprint. Ninas album is a combination of stripped-bare house, deepest Detroit sounds via beautifully ambient pockets and more soul infused slo-mo jams, all coated with an authentic analogue finish and Nina exquisite vocals. The music is emotive and engaging, whilst being something truly original and inspirational. The album features collaborations with Hard Ton and King Aus. Playing out like a full artistic statement rather than just a collection of tracks, the odd time signatures, innocent and waify vocals, muted acid lines and hypnotic loops layered up by Nina all work subtly at pulling you into her world. A superbly, executed and accomplished debut album that has already set the bar high for electronic albums this year.

The result is 10 tracks of uncompromising dark electronics, showcasing ADULT.’s return to aggressive and energetic dancefloor mastery. Album opener “This Behavior” alongside the follow-up “Violent Shakes” (which ascends into synths wailing like warning sirens over Kuperus’s commanding vocals) set the stage for an on-edge listen, while the heartbreaking “Silent Exchange” unfolds as a beautiful sad synth dirge. “Perversions of Humankind” breaks the mood – driving the listener into a slow and low groove before the frantic album midpoint of “Irregular Pleasure”. “Does The Body Know?” is the album’s post-punk anthem, with irresistible singalong “we’re out of order – we’re undefined!” The latter half of the album drives forward with “On The Edge (You Put Me…)” and “Lick Out The Content”, refusing rest and demanding movement and response. “Everything & Nothing” emerges slowly from sparkling synth textures, snowballing with nervous energy into an acid techno stomper before the album comes to a close on the icy landscape of “In All The Debris”, a goose-bump inducing slow electronic mantra that closes the curtain on a massive album.
