The water was powerful and vivid, each burst crashed against the shore with distinct force. After the hundredth wave came the pouring rain and a rogue breeze from the north. The storm had finally arrived. The television had warned that the weather would be fierce and dangerous, that they must stay indoors and not venture outside for the sake of their own wellbeing. Still one or two brave souls stood alongside the boulevard, watching as the apocalypse hit. This was to be the end of the world they'd said, at least for now. 

Rhode & Brown's 'Wave 100' EP was a highlight of last year, deep with a homage to the classic era of Italian dream house. Now they have curated a number of heavy hitting remixes of the EP featuring Bell Towers, C.K., Mr. Ho and Bostro Pesopeo. A highly recommended package.

The BPitch family are pleased to announce the arrival of a new member of our team, as Berlin-based producer Amotik join us with his Daya EP. Amotik has been self-releasing his music for the past couple of years, dropping several EPs and his debut album. His minimalist, hypnotic take on techno is mesmerising and it caught the ear of BPitch boss Ellen Allien some time ago. It didn’t take long for a strong connection to be made between Amotik and the label, resulting in his first appearance with us. Daya contains four powerful cuts, with undulating low frequencies and nuanced composition designed to target mind, body and spirit…

‘Baya’ submerges us in its dense low end straight off the bat. A solemn motif repeats over and over as Amotik gently raises the energy and tension, amplified by eerie, highly affecting organ keys. Title track ‘Daya’ utilises a muffled spoken word sample with haunting production to captivate the listener as the almighty thud of the kick drum rains down heavy.

Next up is ‘Aage’ which feels a lot more ‘busy’ than the first two cuts. A trance-inducing riff cascades around the mids, while the beats and bass pepper your body with a hail of jabs. Wait for the sucker punch after the breakdown, intense. Lastly, we have ‘Peeche’, a track that blends potent percussive elements with a serene top end. You’ll be locked in a groove, experiencing physical catharsis and spiritual transcendence.

A. Oof, well I’ve only lived in NY for a year, but I played my first show here in 2009 at West Nile, which was in Williamsburg next to Glasslands. They cut my set short cuz I was harshing the vibe and they wanted Teengirl Fantasy to play. I was playing “Black Metal” at the time lol

A. This one is meant to be a very gentle ride w me in yr living room or on yr late autumn walk. We’re hangin out, sharin what we share, talkin bout what we talk about, whilst occasionally sitting in awe of these really amazing records.

During the late summer and early autumn days, Sweat Lodge agency, Inland and Mathias Schober threw a series of carefully curated live concerts at Berlin's Prince Charles named arch, an exercise in the new and bizarre language of socially distanced happenings. At each event, three live acts transmitted their take on post-club ambiance, experimental, minimalist, and avant-garde music. Boundaries were crossed, expectations exceeded, and a wave of new music came into existence as the artists on stage adapted and opened up to nutritiously rich, meditative zones.

'Life on Small Planets,' a ten-track album, is reminiscent of three sold-out arch events featuring Amandra, Fred Mann, Inland & John Gürtler, Jamaica Suk, Johanna Knutsson, Kev Sheridan, Magna Pia, Mathias Schober, Merrin Karras, and Perm & HAL. 'Life on Small Planets' is a refreshing reminder of the power and importance of contemporary electronic music.

'Potara', by the incredible French producer Amandra, is a minimalistic sonic trip driven by rumbling drums and melancholic arpeggio.

Meet Sofi Mari a vocalist and lyricist with over ten years of experience within drum and bass. Originally known in the scene as "Sopheye" she has seen releases on labels like Function Records, V Recordings, Inperspective Records, and Fokuz Recordings, to name a few. She's hosted sets for legends in the game such as DJ Storm, Bailey, Jumping Jack Frost, Flight and even has her own live show with Septabeat. 
Sit back and enjoy an hour of Sofi Mari's wicked music, all compiled together beautifully by Anca (who will get her own mix series slot next year)
