2021 sees @epm-music hit a new milestone as the digital distribution, rights management, PR company and record label celebrates 20 years of electronic music. The first part of the EPM20 celebrations sees a series of three multi-artist EPs released across the summer, each focussing on a different genre – techno, electro and house – the three main pillars of EPM’s musical heritage. Each EP features four brand new and exclusive tracks released digitally and on vinyl in specially designed sleeves.

The first of these EPs focuses on techno and presents new tracks from four of the world’s leading techno artists, Robert Hood, Ben Sims, James Ruskin and Mark Broom. The choice was an easy one for EPM, not only because of the artists’ excellent production skills but also because of a long working relationship, which includes the digital distribution of their respective labels – M-Plant, Hardgroove, Blueprint and Beard Man.

Robert Hood opens the release with ‘Shadows’. It’s classic Hood with a modern twist, as the minimal techno master segues between a tough line and delicate bells. Next, Ben Sims infuses ‘Xotnuc’ with all the upbeat energy and tech-funk he brings to his skilful DJ sets. James Ruskin then steps up, bringing a dizzying experimental edge to ‘There Was A Time’ that’s championed 25 years of his Blueprint label. Last but definitely not least is the UK techno icon, Mark Broom. ‘The Three Swords’ builds with a beautiful precision that will make you yearn for the dance floor even harder.

The second EP featuring four electro tracks follows in June, with the third, house EP in July. The compilation ‘EPM20’ will follow after the summer.

EPM20 – EP 1

'16th July 2021 sees the unrelenting Rome-based DJ/producer and label owner Frankyeffe back on his very own Riot Recordings label with a powerful 3-track EP entitled, ‘Generation ’85’.  

This essential offering is the prolific Italian’s first EP of the year on Riot Recordings and follows previous 2021 releases such as his acclaimed ‘Chance’ EP on Sam Paganini’s JAM, his ‘Pacha 08’ remix on Riot’s sister label RXC and his stomping ‘Higher’ single collaboration with Teenage Mutants on Riot Recordings.  

‘Generation ’85’, the EP’s title track, kicks things off delivering a heavy-hitting techno workout laced with simple but effective trance-tinged elements that help give the track a nod to the past (hence the track’s name). ‘Basic’ is next up which continues the mayhem by taking things up a notch with its TB-303 acid squelches and gated synthline. The EP concludes in fine fashion with ‘Blocked’, increasing the intensity yet again and driving the release home to a pounding acid-laden climax.

@shaunmoses has been an integral part of the budding underground electronic music scene coming out of the Indian sub-continent in the last decade. After a couple of great remixes for Noir Music Robert S (PT) delivers his first solo- release on the label and I am proud to present these three amazing originals and two remixes courtesy of Drumcell and The Advent.

Robert and I have been compiling this release over several months and put together what we felt was a really strong 3-tracker. We have been testing the tracks in the clubs around the world making sure we had compiled the perfect release and we are both super happy with the end-result.

On top of that we reached out to Drumcell and The Advent for remixes and they both delivered fantastic takes on the “Exoplanets” track.

„Generation“ hits more organic triggers. With uplifting pads and straight forward plugging chords, this B-side is meant to be played loud. No compromises needed, once the driving hat-game builds up even more excitement towards this marching journey. 

And it’s a Belgian affair, when Phara hits the remix knobs for „Generation“, totally hitting the spot. A melodic drive through analog percussion towards an ever growing climax expecting us, ready to visit the full frequency range on a high level peak. 

Heading from Portugal is Re-Axis on the second remix duty for „Generation“. Slightly more dubby, but still ever growing and forward moving, he perfectly merges Angioma’s original with a jacking drum programming and pulsing stabs, rounding up this record in a quality way. '
