Grid Records launch their first of a series of releases for 2023 with a five-track EP from Mexico City's Nico.

'Passage' is complete polyrhythmic bliss with minimalist, ethereal elements that sparkle among the overall dread-driven atmosphere. With the title track also featuring Tristan Arp (Wisdom Teeth/Banoffee Pies), the range of works perfectly encapsulate the style for which Nico has been renowned for via releases on Timedance, Mother's Finest and L.I.E.S.

These four walls were her sanctuary, an armour she'd built to protect her from the chaos of the outside world. By choice her days and nights were spent in isolation, it was exactly the way she liked it. She'd never cared much for other people, she preferred to live in her own imaginary world, where everything made perfect sense to her and her alone. In this bubble she felt safe and protected - there was nobody to answer to, nobody to give their unsolicited advise, she was the master of this universe.

Since their inception over a decade ago Hamburg imprint Couldn't Care More have been home to a roster of artists exploring deep, abstract electronics including the likes of A Sagittariun, Harmonious Thelonious and Stareaway. For their first outing of 2023 they welcome a new member to the family, NY producer J. Albert. The Exotic Dance Records boss and self-described "technologist" brings his distinctive take on deep, groove-laden house and techno for his config EP which is laced with airy, atmospheric pads, intricate sound design and tight drum programming.

Long Island Sound’s debut album gets fresh treatment from some of the most exciting producers in electronic music. Cromby, Mor Elian, James Shinra and Benjamin Damage feature on Long Island Sound’s Signs of Space imprint. 

The tracks on Lost Connection Remixes are stunning reinterpretations of three tracks from Lost Connection, the debut LP from Irish duo Long Island Sound. For the third track, Mor Elian ups the pace and intensity of the EP with her remix of Dusk. Combining enormous low-end rumbles and syncopated percussion patterns with blissful pads and celestial choirs, Mor’s remix perfectly toes the line between tough and tender.

yet is a slippery word in English. Amorphous, these three letters in different contexts can define contrast or emphasis, set a place in time, show an expectation that something will occur or, paradoxically, that it is likely to stop.

It is this mercurial nature that makes yet the perfect title for the latest @tresor compilation: the label follows on from the more explorative sections of 2021’s landmark Tresor 30 boxed set with a compilation, featuring 13 artists making music that resists easy definition.

Track 12 comes from @solid_blake, whose track 'Hexaghost' is a hefty, broken beat track of experimental techno, with Tresor the perfect landing spot for the Copenhagen-based producer's sonic palette.

Open Mantissa 005 and you’ll find tracks from not one, not two.. or even three of the artists from prior releases. Wait a minute… you’re not saying all four artists from the previous releases have a track on this EP are you? Erm.. I think that might be what we’re saying. Vino connoisseur and good food appreciator Jon Beige met Records With Attitude co-boss Mouloud whilst chowing down at Le Cave in Paris' 10th District. We know, it sounds like the beginning of a beautiful love story. As the wine flowed, the pair got into chatting about music and the idea for the two tracks on Jon's newest outing Gatorade were conceived. There's a distinct nod to leftfield UK club rhythms which, in contrast to his previous releases for Global Warming which have balanced sonics for the home and the club, are both custom made for the dance floor.
