When I listen to it again, I realize that the bass accents are off, I'm not sure if I did it on purpose, but it's funny.
Not so bad, I'll publish it.
At the same time I understand why I'd forgotten it.

Thomas Gray & Liam Ebbs : ‘‘Recollection of Everything Beautiful’ was written over the space of 18 months between 2019 and 2020. The protracted time frame for the creation of the record corresponded with a period of vast personal change for both Thomas and Liam. Contrary to their debut record, ‘3 Days, 2 Nights’, this work is less bound to place, rather being a reflection on the joy of transformation.’’ 

Part 1 of ‘To An End’ opens the project, fusing ethereal textures and modulating synth tones with a balearic tinged plucked melody and an amalgamation of euphoric strings and atmospherics. ‘Of Two’ follows next and sees the duo deliver intricately evolving off-kilter drums alongside elongated jazz-tinged bass notes and their signature cinematic soundscapes. Following is ‘.nov.’, which contrastingly switches the focus over to minimalistic 4/4 drums, snaking subs, wandering piano lines and resonant fills throughout. 

‘That Was You’ kicks off the flip, once again offering a more left of centre rhythmic approach via glitchy percussion and bumpy kicks while billowing synths and warm Rhodes ebb and flow throughout. ‘Variation II’ embraces a modern classical aesthetic with organic percussion, subtly blooming piano melodies and tension building pads next before Part 2 of ‘To An End’ closes the package, perfectly concluding the experience through evolving guitar melodies, blissful atmospheres, brass swells and a soft rhythmic flow.

Award-winning British-Bahraini jazz pioneer @yazzahmed is releasing a 'Polyhymnia Remixed' featuring artists who beautifully mirror her "psychedelic arabic jazz" sound: DJ Plead, Asmara and Surly.

On his remix, @surlynz said: "Yazz gave me a very open brief for this, so I didn't go in with any plan re: genre or BPM. I listened to the original track and the stems for about a week, and tried some different chops and tempos, but nothing really had me hooked. One morning I left the house with it stuck in my head, and by the end of the day, what I could hear sounded like this. Stripped back, faster, with a syncopated bassline and a focus on the drums and the trumpet solo. There was so much other rich material I wanted to use, particularly from the intro, but I felt that adding more would take away from the mood I already had, so I kept it to a few key sections and let it breathe."

The Los Angeles-based artist Tap Newo created the Techno Mixtape project to bring together a community of independent artists. It meant taking back creative control and making music for the reason he originally got involved within the techno scene. 

The tracks were inspired by raving in the warehouses at 6AM's events and watching the crowd's reactions to DJs playing specific sounds and capturing that moment in the studio. This mixtape is suited for more than peak-time hours but for the entire night. There's something in here for all types of techno fans whether you are brand new to the scene or a hardcore raver.
