Dear listener,
finally this year, I managed to see the man burn!
In the weeks and months before Burning Man a lot of my friends kept on telling me how amazing it was and most of them would conclude their eulogy with something like: „Burning Man changed my life“.
Well, I can not certainly say that Burning Man changed my life, but what I know for sure is that my life changed afterwards ;-)
Very glad that I made it to this far away place and I hope to return next year.
I want to thank Lio and everybody at our nice camp and of course the robots who invited me to let their hearts beat according to my pace. It has been truly amazing. 
The only thing I really had to struggle with, that Sunday morning on the Playa, was the sunlight that made it almost impossible to spot anything on the display, so please please please you geeks out there, come up with something that can work in sunlight, because we all love the sun!

Max Graham, a man of many musical talents specially known for blurring the lines of trance, techno and progressive, has once again created his one-of-a-kind installation that transports you to a dark room with intimate vibes. Graham’s favorite producer of the year, Rick Pier O’Neil, delights with three new originals including bassline-dominating piece “To Declare.” Also making an appearance are THNK, Henrik Zuberstein and Ewan Rill’s “Lotos” (Vocal Mix) featuring Avenax stunning vocals; all staples in Graham’s sets. His keen ear for up-and-coming talent gained Dimi Mechero and Apsara a spot on the mix as well. And marking the 15-year anniversary of Graham’s “Airtight” comes an out-of-this-world rendition by no stranger to the Cycles family, Tim Penner that Graham called his “Remix of the year”.  

This time around the architect of build, energy manipulator and vibe connoisseur, Max Graham delivers a gem packed 78-minute, 16 tracks compilation that will stimulate your senses. A condensed mix showcasing what the widely popular Open to Close concept is all about. From Guy J’s “Equinox,” a hauntingly rhythmic track enough to lure you in. To Graham’s newest release “One Hundred” (Raw Mix) with a chunky bassline and infused builds, perfect for the peak hours of the journey. To the magical, goosebump inducing, almost orchestra like piece exclusively written for this installment by Tim Penner, “Shadow Light” (Cycles 7 Outro Mix) completes yet another Cycles.

One of the most exciting artists to emerge in techno circles in recent times, Drumcode is excited to present the label’s first EP from Boxia.

Over the last 12 months the UK artist has impressed with his classy take on techno that mines two decades of rave. Last year’s ‘Colour Sequence’ EP on We Are The Brave marked one of 2017’s standout releases, before being tapped by Maya Jane Coles to remix a track from her latest album ‘Take Flight’, while B.Traits also shone the spotlight on him for a Future 12 residency on BBC Radio 1 throughout September. Boxia first came into contact with Adam Beyer when he opened the Car Park at Tobacco Dock for LWE’s NYD event in 2016, and since then the pair have spoken regularly sharing similar tastes in music and DJing. He dropped his first cut on DC during the summer of ’16, with ‘Revolution’ that featured on A-Sides Vol. 5, making him primed and ready for his first full length EP in 2018.

The four-track work lives up to his growing reputation for crafting beautiful, nuanced and ultimately very powerful electronic music. The EP opens with ‘No World Order’, a deep transcendental slice of techno propelled by a wicked acid line and vocal that leads to a galloping finish. ‘Only Human’ is drenched in atmosphere and old skool wonder, a brilliant composition of punchy multi-layered drum work, catchy synth lines and cutting acid that reveals its tender side with emotive broken beat interludes. ‘Unreal’ is a big peak time belter, raising the tempo to sweaty palms level, as a propulsion of acid and a memorable riff fill the technosphere. The title track ‘Ethereal Education’ closes out the work, a beautiful chord-driven vocal cut that evokes images of the classic dance that characterised Boxia’s earlier years and makes a fitting outro to this outstanding EP.
