Flip The Lid is a label prone to movement. Originally started in London as a radio show, before then making its way to Aotearoa/New Zealand, and now finally settling in Boorloo/Perth, the label has seen a series of moves and influences that have stuck with it to this day. 'Rolly Bump Vol 2', its second compilation, is a merging of all of those geographic influences, with contributions from Ireland, Japan, across Europe and Australia.

'Twerp', the work of Boorloo-based producer Aphid, is a nod to deep, dark and hypnotic dancefloors. The producer, who cites the likes of Unai Trotti, Smagghe, Ciel and XDB as influences, has shared a track versatile enough for the club or big outdoor systems. "Layers of broken percussion, tweaked-out acid & a healthy dose of 40hz keeps this one skipping along," the label shared.

Flip The Lid is here on a monthly basis with the aim of 'flipping the lid' on some of most exciting artists across the globe, as well as recognising some of the mainstays of the scene. Expect a mixed bag of sub genres within the harder, rave side of dance music with a nod of homage towards progressive, trance-like and heavy hitting house music and bouncy groove-inspired techno.
