YYARD, also known as Yannis Anft from Cologne, brings his unique blend of musical styles to the forefront with the ‚San Astéria EP‘. This ninth release on our label infuses traditional breakbeats with dub and hip-hop influences.

Opening with ‚Swallow,‘ the EP sets an enchanting tone, featuring intricate synth sequences and rhythmic mastery that showcase YYARD‘s jazz influences. Following this mesmerizing start, the title track ‚San Astéria‘ offers a smoother, spheric vibe with its dub-infused beats and jazzy harmonies, creating a dreamy auditory landscape. The energy shifts with ‚Leisure Spleen,‘ which creates an irresistibly groovy atmosphere that makes it impossible not to move. ‘Digital Ecosystem’ is a sexy & gritty bounce between the angled dance floors of tech-minimal, and the limb-loosening moments of drum & bass. With a breathy vocal punctuating a rich tapestry of bleeps & kicks, the track is an addictive listen that clearly demonstrates the producer’s ability to layer depth & texture without sacrificing on fun.

As we venture to foreign lands over the last two years, so too does our label and the artists that join us on this year's compilation. Presenting 'Volume Three', including twelve tracks from producers based in Naarm, Berlin, London, Boorloo, Barcelona, Eora & Leeds.

Across twelve pieces, forms a microcosmic diorama—introspective, expansive, and trickled with odes to 90s ambient, downtempo trance and dub. Aethereal pads glide over synthetic breaks, reflecting a tension between organic flow and artificial symmetry.

This compilation stands as a monument to the liminal—the space between digital and dream, pulsing like coded signals from distant outposts, a mosaic of futures imagined through bygone lenses.

Something for every occasion, whether you’re looking to get down and dirty, leave the dancefloor in dust or stargaze via subbass, we got you covered. Recorded between Berlin and Perth, the tracks all signify moments in time that feels like it’s going too fast, an archival stamp on the year 2024; sometimes after a party that lingers with mythical adrenaline, sometimes a personal moment to express reflection.
With the only predictability being Roza’s penchant for Genre Bending, STEP14 sets the tone for the freaky, fabulous year to come of Step Ball Chain in 2025.
