LA was with theLIFT Jeremy Sole, Jonathan Rudnick, Wiseacre, Eduardo Castillo, Pablo Sanchez, Balkan Brass Band & many wonderful people who've been supportive of both TOTH & theLIFT for many years! Nickodemus and the Turntables on the Hudson crew return for Volume 10 of the long running compilation series, showcasing the eclecticism of the infamous, now worldwide party. Entitled “Uptown Downtown”, this compilation CD paints a picture of the dancefloor from the beginning to the end of the night at TOTH’s NYC Summer 2015 Uptown home (La Marina in Washington Heights) and their year round downtown home, above the clouds at Le Bain on top of the Standard Hotel in Manhattan. Deeper, electronic house vibes are represented by the likes of Bonobo, Claptone and Alex Barck, while the Latin and Afrobeat sound is of course heavily represented through tunes from Captain Planet,  Quantic, Alsarah & The Nubatones, Novalima, Chancha Via Circuito, Jose Marquez and more.

TOTH and Coney Island Love Summer mix

Part 4 of TOTH's Anniversary Month: Let's take a trip down memory lane… the year is 1999 &amp; it's our 1st solid year of Turntables on the Hudson in NYC.Party people walked through an ice skating rink to a wide open outdoor deck with only the stars above &amp; the Hudson River below. At this time, Kruder &amp; Dorfmeister, Thievery Corporation, Organic Grooves, DJ Shadow, Masters at Work, Jazzanova, Up Bustle &amp; Out, Yellow Records, Talkin Loud, Mo Wax, Ninja Tune, Pussy Foot, heavy breaks, drum &amp; bass, latin jazz, house &amp; all sorts of artists &amp; genres were being played at the party.This CD/ mix wasn't a complete representation of the eclectic dance tunes we were playing at the parties at the time, but it was our own music that we were making &amp; releasing into the World with our little Label Rhythm Love Records. This included tracks from the local emerging crew who were into a wide range of sounds &amp; influences. We simply loved when a DJ who was playing at the party would test out their new tunes they were working on. These friends are still with us today in various cities &amp; we salute them! Here's a tracklisting that gives you a little slice of NYC at this time… Big respects to Mariano, Nappy G, Busquelo, Jeannie Hopper &amp; all the artists on this compilation who started this vibe with us &amp; helped make it possible to get the music released! Turntables on the Hudson celebrates 20 years of Worldwide parties city to city, river to river with a special compilation pulling from Nickodemus' favorite songs over the past 2 decades. The compilation touches on some of the party anthems that kept the dancefoor moving from the start of the night till the last songs when the lights came on. The songs range from classic Fat Freddy's Drop, Men from the Nile, Trueby Trio, Jazzanova, Quantic to future classics from Dimitri from Paris, Moulinexx, Captain Planet, Thornato & more. The 3XLP is pressed with 2-3 songs per side with 13 in total & the digital contains the full 20 song compilation playlist. One of my favorite festivals in the World is the Radio Meuh Circus Festival nestled in the small ski village of Clusaz in the French Alps. It was quite an honor & excitement to play an entire night start to finish to kick off the 2019 festival with my partner in Turntables on the Hudson sound system, Nappy G on percussion. Although his drum head broke in the middle of the night, he managed to make magic & keep the rhythms flowing till the end freestyle with me on the CDJ's making beats, him rocking the broken congas & a beautiful charged up crowd keeping the energy very high! We get down anywhere anytime full of passion & heart & if you can imagine this very packed crowd sweating all up on top of each other, dancing, smiling, grinding, drinking... you get the idea of a Radio Meuh, Turntables on the Hudson, Alps, Nile, Ramblas, Danube, Ipanema, Caribbean vibes! Hope you enjoy this mix & we meet again on a dance-floor soon. Nickodemus
