With early releases on standout labels like Afterlife and Innervisions, as well as a recent Cercle set under his belt, Germany's Innellea has accomplished in a few years what many strive for in a career. As an artist, Innellea takes clear inspiration from the modern techno scene, however, where many acts use that inspiration to do little beyond emulating what's trending, the Munich-based producer lets his creative drive run free. As a result, Innellea's sound explores many untouched nooks of the genre, providing listeners with distinctly moody and often cinematic soundscapes to wander.

Innellea follows his coveted Cercle performance with the forthcoming release of his three track EP, 'It's Us'. The release's title track is a finely tempered breakbeat melting pot of drama and melody. It's stripped down, but only in the sense that there's no excess fat on the bone. Innellea gives each individual element in the mix space to breathe, allowing his attention to detail as a producer to shine along the way.  "It's Us" is led by sprawling synths that crescendo as they linger, swelling until they break into the tune's warm and unctuous release. Innellea comments on the release, explaining,

“Sometimes we need to see things in a wider angle and take a step back to see the bigger picture. In that sense it's just you and me; It’s Us being part of something intangible.”

Denis Horvat returns to Afterlife Recordings for a second EP of distinctive, dancefloor productions.

A year after ‘Modelo’ comes ‘Miracle Of The Rose’, an evocative and authentic development of Horvat’s sound. On ‘Noise’, the vocals of Lelah give way to a stripped-down, reverberant groove. The title track rises with a free-flowing melody before dropping a tough, angular beat. ‘Divin’ is the EP’s deepest cut, before digital only track ‘Royale’ rounds off this diverse release with flair.

Were back in the capital with the 8th installment of the Stil vor Talent Berlin compilation series, which brings forth a group of old and new faces, who exclusively contributed unreleased tracks, gathered under the umbrella of one of Berlins derelict treasures. Neukölln's Blub, short for "Berliner Luft- und Badeparadis", was a waterpark opened in 1985 in the Britz area. After its closure in 2002 the site fell into disrepair, waiting for housing redevelopment and revealing a fragile beauty in its decay as days go by. Like all of Berlin's remaining ruins, Blub serves as a reminder of long-gone times, while amplifying the current tensions between aggressive gentrification and useful repurposing. As always, music is the common denominator and Oliver Koletzki delivers the perfect soundtrack with this new release, while Chrisse Kunst renders the visuals.

Premiere: Colyn - The Future Is The Past [DGTL Records]

Atlant's relentless quest for emerging electronic talent sees us traverse the northern Swiss Plateau to Zürich for the rich innovative sounds of Soma Soul. To make this release something truly special we also summoned Afterlife mainstay / rising star Colyn and Atlant label owner BOg to each add their unique perspective to Soma Soul's two emotive originals.

Having already featured on last month's Atlant VOYAGER VA Soma Soul (Francesco Parla, Ralph Wirth) now take centre stage to build upon fine releases for Jonas Rathsman's ELEMENTS, Endangered and RADIANT. Both originals feature the beguiling vocals of the UK's Ed Begley.

The ambient intimate and unique textures of title track 'Complacency' really showcase what Soma Soul are all about. Cascading piano lines, cinematic sweeps and classy restraint really emphasise each softly sung lyric, with the sum of all parts creating wonderment and beauty.

For the remix we called on Colyn, fresh from his 'Concepts Of Love' EP for RÜFÜS DU SOL's Rose Avenue plus tracks on the mighty Afterlife UNITY and DGTL's latest VA. Colyn gives a remixing masterclass, using Ed's melancholic vocal as the foundation to craft layer upon layer of heart wrenching melodies as the pure emotion of 'Complacency' digs deep into your soul.

Innellea and Kevin De Vries have both broken through in the past couple of years, pushing distinctive, high-energy sounds for the floor. On the ‘Hoffnungsschimmer’ EP, the colourful tones of Innellea’s synth work and Kevin’s hard-hitting drama are a perfect match, resulting in three diverse and unique creations. ‘Das Licht’ and ‘Mondfinsternis’ are both euphoric, peak-time efforts full of stirring elements and forward motion. The title track’s more downtempo atmosphere and breakbeats balance the EP into a rounded whole.
