a DJ - "just" someone who plays music and mixes tracks together? 

My idea of a sublime DJ mix is where the sum of the parts are greater than just the tracks being mixed together; it sets a distinct atmosphere and sentiment from the beginning till the very end, yet there's enough variety within the mix to keep the listener absorbed throughout the whole mix; and there's a story.. a story being told, or one for you to interpret.  

It's these DJ mixes that stands out to me from all the other 9,999 mixes that are out there and my idolisation of these DJ mixes inspires me to make my own DJ mixes.
