Q&A with Yuri Mizokami:

1. What inspires you to mix/make music?
I'm always in my imaginary world when I'm focusing on dance. I'm running like a strong wind in the intense chaos. Fast tempo and hard hitting bass gives me energy in the center of my mind. Like the eye of a typhoon. I always love to feel it. Somehow It gives me little fear sometimes but if I could be wind I feel safe. When I make a mix, I'm trying those expressions of my mind into it.

2. How has 2020 changed your relationship to music?
I couldn’t listen to music much when the covid happened. Especially techno music that I always danced to. To me, that was something to dance and enjoy with friends and people. But conversely, I realized the power of music that how much it can be connecting people’s souls. It's a simple thing but it’s important to me. Since then I started coming to think about music more than before.

Doll Face fka Dorothy Parker was a resident DJ for the Cry Baby series at the Institut für Zukunft in Leipzig, and began producing after moving to Berlin in 2018. Doll Face began producing music after moving to Berlin in 2018. They composed and played the music for two dance pieces and performed live at the Balance Club/ Culture Festival 2020. In December 2020 their Debut EP CAKE was released on acting in concert. CAKE celebrates the daily uprising – it is a radical and emotional manifesto and furious liberation.
