Sonny Rhodes' piano and keyboards balance the jazz core with eerie dark synth textures and unsettling sound effects, conjuring a soundscape where beauty flickers like light on broken glass. This is the latest track of my current ambient drone series, created with Soma Lyra-8, Elektron Digitakt and Strymon Big Sky. I wanted to create a mood that sounds different than the usual Lyra stuff and not like a typical drone. I felt like I need something else in my liveset and here we go - Digitakt adds a simple pad sound to the rhythmic pattern of the Lyra. 'Modulation' is also the title track of my upcoming performance.
