So, just that alone makes the whole night special. It was just SO amazing to have everyone in the same room again, going crazy to all these monster sets that everyone played. When I would look out from the stage, you could just see that *everyone* was moving, sweating and/or screaming for more. They were smiling and laughing and just so happy to be around people again. Specifically *these* people. The ones who come every single year and lose their minds alongside everyone else, without even thinking twice if they're going to go to the party, or not. I think everyone *needed* that party, myself included. There's just nothing else like it. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful we were able to do it over the internet during those lonely times, but there really is no proper substitute. And while this might not be the tightest set I've ever played, I think it got the job done. So, enjoy!! :)”

Locking in with a new episode of our Truancy Sessions series with a mix of hi-energy hypnotics from Toronto-based DJ and tastemaker Kuscheln. An all-round purveyor of playful, thought-provoking dance music, he has become a staple figure in the Toronto underground, with his Klub Ferret parties offering nights of steamy dance-offs and queer revelry to a soundtrack of the hottest house and bubbling bass. His mix for us today is party perfection, rolling through with an infectious palette of  late night mind twisters, soaring grooves and big room breaks. As the curveball-loving fans that we are at Truants too, we've completely lost count of the amount of times we've wheeled up the Spice Girls remix in this mix. An unreal statement of flow and taste over 100 glorious minutes.

We've put the mix as well as a little photo diary and selection of the tracklist up on our wesbite. The interesting Italian imprint Nubians of Plutonia proudly unveils "Proton Waves," a vibrant and cohesive VA that beautifully encapsulates the label's foundational sound. This eleven-track collection serves as a compelling survey of the current Indie Dance/Nu Disco landscape, bringing together a diverse and talented roster. On board: Astore, CSK (SXDNS088), Lucas Novaes, O.P.S., Samuele De Santis, Neurotiker, TDWS, and Pleasure Seeker, the label's own guiding force, just to name a few. Together, they form a collective of modern architects, each contributing a unique piece to a brilliantly cohesive puzzle, showcasing the creative ferment currently animating the scene and setting a compelling stage for the depths that follow.

Among these contributors, Rio de Janeiro-based Neurotiker stands as a particularly notable presence, an artist whose reputation for crafting vital dance-floor material is well-earned through a series of distinguished and well-received appearances on imprints such as Emerald & Doreen, Ritmo Fatale, Club Mackan, Dogmatraxxx, and Dischi Autunno. His contribution, the masterfully titled “Tottori Sakyu,” is a peak-time tour de force. The name, referencing Japan's vast coastal sand dunes, provides a perfect conceptual anchor for the track's expansive and shifting architecture. It constructs a mesmerising soundscape from deep, undulating synth layers that ripple with atmospheric pressure, while frenzied arpeggios spiral upwards through the mix. A discreet but driving percussive framework and enigmatic, speech-like vocals weave throughout the arrangement, creating a driving, textured journey designed to command the heart of the night with its relentless and hypnotic energy.

At some point in the early morning the collective pulse in the room shifted. Gone the rollercoaster of the peak hours. Sweat gave way to the fog of the hazy hours, and the crowd has evolved to those in need of undulating epiphanies. This is the stage on which fabric92 unfolds.

"I love playing every hour of the night. However the late hours seemed strangely under represented within this series, and I thought it would be good to start there instead of using this opportunity to add another peak time chapter to the collection."

In a few years this versatility has marked the London born Call Super as one of the brightest new lights on the DJ landscape. His rise has been steady and remarkable, reinforced at every stage with music that draws on a panoply of influences. The son of a New Orleans jazz clarinetist, his curiosity for music was driven by a childhood playing Spanish guitar and the piano before being burnished through teenage revelations in the London club scene.

"The fabric mix series has played an influential role in my learning of my craft. As influential to me as the club itself. The discs recorded by Ellen Allien, Craig Richards, Robert Hood, James Murphy and Pat Mahoney all taught me quite distinct things about track selection and pacing that I think about to this day. The John Peel one became an elegy that I still remember him by as much as his radio shows that I used to listen to. Because of this I wanted my mix to do a few things. Primarily I wanted it to be highly personal, a Polaroid of my way of mixing records. Because my own technique has been influenced by other discs in the series, I had to capture the way I sometimes play in a club."

And that is what this mix is, the sound of a DJ who has drawn in so much in finding their own voice. Records layered and sliced with a deft array of techniques and a singular vision for the room and the time they are operating in. fabric92 eschews the common computer based approach and gives the listener a snapshot of a misty reality. Music should give you a better context for the everyday, it should elate, it should make you angry, sad, it heightens life. This understanding is at the root of Call Super's work, though with this recording he puts it differently:

"For the listener, I simply wanted the music to take you out to sea so we could watch the weather together. This isn’t about getting beat upside the head, this is us dreaming in the dawn."
