This is not a jazz tune. Just a pure and simple song I recorded a long time ago. It was my late sister, Berta's, favorite - one I sang at her memorial - and always a special request from my lovely niece, Ariane. So here it is. I hope you like it.

Recorded this a while back in the middle of the night at Santa Fe Center Studios here in Albuquerque. That's Dan Ward on guitar, Milo Jaramillo on bass and Kenny Battat on percussion. My mother loved this song. I'm glad I made her proud.

When my trio Wicked Wilde was going to record for the first time I knew this haunting tune was going to be at the top of my list. I've lived this song. Unfortunate, but true. And I wanted to do it right and honestly. No apologies. And I feel it this way every time I sing it. Just the way it is. Love can be like a ghost sometimes. And music can be a way to exorcise it. I'm blessed to have a way to express and share it and get over such experiences. My dear friends - guitarist Ben Martinez and bassist Dave Friedlander - have helped me do that so beautifully here, I could never thank them enough. Joy!

Just you and I sung by Gary Jaramillo and sister MJ Wilde.  This is one of the songs we performed at many weddings on very happy and wonderful days.  We were honored in each and every wedding that we were asked to perform for in our lifetimes. 

JUST YOU AND I

My sister MJ and I really liked doing this song.  It's very complicated harmonies are a challenge but we nailed it.  It's such a beautiful song.  

WHEN I FALL IN LOVE

Here's a tribute to Natalie Cole, who we just tragically lost, and her late father, Nat King Cole. My brother, Gary Jaramillo and I recorded this song many years ago because we loved it so much. And now I post it as a remembrance of the lovely and talented Natalie Cole who inspired so many of us and kept her father's legacy alive.
