This amusing ditty has been described by Rod Stewart as the best song Ronnie Lane ever wrote. That takes some doing, since Lane was the mainstay of both The Small Faces and The Faces before forming his own rough and ready - and yet also undervalued - band in the mid-seventies, Slim Chance. Sadly, Lane is long gone, but his talent lives on. So here's to Ronnie, and I hope you enjoy my take on his cynical if comically romantic ballad, vinyl edition...
