Presenting ‘Departures’ (out now on Lost Tribe Sound), the debut album from μastroKristo. ‘Departures’ is a nocturne, built from a humble and quiet rehearsal for untuned piano, tuba, bassoon, and tapes. It's a tribute to the night, and to all the failed and successful attempts at falling asleep. In gentle gray and pale blue hues, its watery, moonlit emotions spill forth... a siren’s song tempting heavy eyelids to take the final plunge towards a long night’s sleep.

‘Departures’ makes use of the worn mechanics and incidental noises generated by μastroKristo’s nearly 100 years old John Spencer & Co upright piano and its exposed soundboard. The artist takes advantage of the fragile character found in the low fidelity recordings and uses it to serve an equally important role as the piano itself. The tired piano hammers collapse in cascading cyclical patterns, resting comfortably inside the hiss and the wow and flutter effects brought on by an old TASCAM cassette recorder. Further still, these moments are glued together by the relaxed conversations between a tuba and a bassoon, which help lend a certain film noir like character to the music. This combination of forward motion and fluidity creates an intoxicating ebb and flow.

Welcome to my Piano Day track for 2019. I have been honored to have my tracks included on all 3 previous Piano Day playlists since 2016, and hope this comes to you in the same fashion. 
The title of this track has meaning on 2 levels; one is the different piano lines that connect as the song takes its twists and turns on an 8+ minute journey; then there is the emotional level as the listener enters the final climax of the track. Piano Day, a annual worldwide event founded by a group of likeminded people, takes place on the 88th day of the year – in 2019 it’s the 29th March – because of the number of keys on the instrument being celebrated.
The aim of the day is to create a platform for piano related projects in order to promote the development of musical dimensions and to continue sharing the centuries-old joy of playing piano. Piano Day welcomes all kinds of piano lovers — young and old, amateur and professional, of any musical direction – to join in this years festivities. It is intended to be the most joyful of all holidays!

“NOISE IS THE CLEF!”
Noise à Noise is wishing everyone a fantastic 2020 and presenting the end of the year compilation album(s) for the season of fall, which would be the last compilation in 2020.  These quarterly albums have hosted artistic experimental music since 2019, keeping the track with a focus on subjects like music composition, sound design and other expressive variables that are present within the context of noise. 
Noise a Noise is an independent label for experimental and noise music artists, especially for those who have a bond with the culture or in general to the art-scene in Iran, this is mostly because of scarcity of platforms with such priorities and approaches to sound in Iran, but it definitely priorities and value meaningful intercultural activities and approaches beyond the local scene.
This double-disk album is scheduled for a simultaneous release on December 31st, at the very last days of the second decade in the 21st century. Please note that there would be a pre-release on Bandcamp and on Soundcloud (only excerpts) from a day before and the worldwide release comes on iTunes, Spotify, Facebook and similar online music distribution platforms. 
Production partners are Studio A Tehran (for the post-production) and Arman Moghadam who have been developing generative patterns for the cover art since the first series.
