This EP is also a milestone for Raise Records : the production of its first vinyl, after five projects released in less than a year and a half. With Raise 001, the label launches a new series of solo EPs in order to showcase Raise Agency’s artists.

Hot on the heels of last year's Dear Diary EP on Lobster Theremin, explosive performances on HÖR and an intimate interview with celebrated German publication Groove Magazine, frequent Berlin & Leipzig DJ Narciss comes through with four deep and groovy cuts of bass-driven techno.

‘Feather Boa Constrictor’ features one of Copenhagen’s most exciting emerging producers in recent years - Vixen - fresh off her own acclaimed release, Hard Magik For Soft Souls, on Lobster Theremin in December. Now the pair link up on the DJ Mag Breakthrough Label of the Year imprint that blends all the best elements of the Berlin and Copenhagen scenes in a high-speed trip through psy-trance, synth-wave and techno.

Narciss is on his ones as we enter the A2; ‘Lovechild (Outrun Mix)’ is aptly named with its reference to the 1986 arcade game Outrun, which featured some of the best video-game music to ever be created. Deep basslines, swirling synth-stabs and a soothing deepness and contemplativeness that can only come with driving a virtual car down a never-ending highway.

‘Tokyo’ makes use of polyrhythms and textures blended with what sounds like an old Sampha record. It’s a wonderful combination of dark, deep and forward-thinking sound, before Copenhagen producer Repro comes through with a typically EBM-focused remix combining elements of every track.

This EP is about the impostor syndrome, the pressure of the artists in the artistic circles which generates what is called, the blank page.

The EP will be represented by the French label Dusk Records based in Paris, consisting of two original tracks "Blank Page" and "Be Jealous" as well as two remixes by the artists MRD (Reprise Talent Agency) and Lee Ann Roberts (Apelago Agency), one based in Oslo while the other in Amsterdam.

This release will have you dancing and crying at the same time. On his debut album, Paris-based producer and founder of the ‘raw poetry’ aesthetic Loyce Demellier - AKA DJ Physical - takes us on a fast-paced journey through techno, electro, breaks and more. Whilst the music’s indisputable home is the club, Physical teases out moments of playfulness and sentimentality amongst hard-hitting electronics.

‘Silver Lake’ LP resides on the colder, more industrial side of Demellier’s sonic spectrum, following on from his latest release on London imprint 1Ø PILLS MATE which saw him depart from the more lofi quality of his previous releases in favour of a raw, club-focused sound. On the A-side, Demellier situates the release within the context of old warehouse raves, with euphoric acid melodies and a 140BPM propulsion (‘Uranium’); and high-pitched synth stabs that ascend from darkness (‘Gold Mines’). The B-side maintains the pace, but this time it’s about electro and breaks. On ‘Overshoot’, reverberating cymbals add another layer of depth to Amen break interludes whilst ‘Lawbreaker’ harnesses a cheekier tone, offering respite from the previous tracks’ venom.

This air of playfulness sticks around on ‘Lunatic State’ helped by MPC drum claps and a ludic electro melody, before fellow Parisian Ika Sile steps up for ‘Early Sprinter’ and ‘Bootybounce’: the former offering a slicker take on acid techno and the latter: rave music at its absolute with piano stabs and sleazy vocal chops

// MLBR is a DJ and producer from Rennes and a member of the Osmoz Collective. He explores rave sounds, shaping a universe where Acid and Trance intertwine. His style stands out with a hybrid approach : he merges the galloping basslines of Psytrance with percussive elements and hypnotic textures drawn from Techno and Acid, creating a sound that is both intense and immersive.

MLBR builds his sets as a constant oscillation between tension and release, playing with intensity while maintaining a sustained energy. Alternating between explosive phases and more hypnotic moments, he creates a balance between power and subtlety. His dynamic and instinctive approach forges a strong connection with the dancefloor, where the fusion of acid-tinged sounds and frenetic rhythms becomes unstoppable, guiding the audience through a wave of pure energy.

A passionate producer, he has released tracks on the labels Error 303 and Silence Records, two key references in the Acid Rave scene. This year marks an important milestone in his journey with the upcoming release of his first EP, promising to delve even deeper into his sound universe.

Always in search of new sounds, MLBR crafts a style where the legacy of past raves meets the energy of today’s scene, delivering a raw, impactful, and immersive musical experience.
