Number 22 brings my lovely Berlin based friend George aka Dugong @deejaydugong. Originally from Brisbane, Australia, he is  the co-organiser of music & events collective @astralvipz, he has an incredible taste & technical skill for dj'ing - which I was lucky enough to witness at the astral vip x imaginary friend party in Berlin last year (incredible party!).

Under astral vip, on top of regular parties, they have a residency @refugeworldwide where you can find a bunch of incredible mixes to sift through. I think George's music is a great reflection of his charismatic, fun personality - a diverse selection of euphoric, deep party bangers. Hope you enjoy the mix as much as I did!

Animix One Hundred & Twenty Two: Dugong

Musical trends are nothing more than waves that rise and fall according to fashions, desires and inspirations.
The current trend towards progressive house, mental techno and goa trance, for example, is merely a recuperation of initiatives launched in the 90s. Yet we're improving the sound, making it more modern and reappropriating it to suit our generation.

The two artists featured on this latest issue of tdt are all in love with paying tribute to those famous years, and they do it particularly well. They are the very reason why we continue to look to the past to produce a present that strives to do better.

Both club-oriented and at the same time introspective and intimate, the worlds of Pjenne and Jolly encourage exploration, and that's exactly what we're interested in here!

Vivienne is Berlin based Irish Dj who is a killer selector!!
 I came across them a couple of months ago when they did an absolute STOMPING mix for Soulseekers!! Kinda like this one, it was just around my corner. A few weeks went by and Tender wanted to invite Vivienne an their partner Dougong to come play for our Christmas party where they STOLE the show!!! As a member of the Hannover-based DJ collective Soft Spot, Bennet is part of a group founded in 2019 by queer and FLINTA individuals dedicated to supporting queer-feminist politics both on and off the dance floor. We’re delighted to welcome him for the new season with a mix full of jungle and drum & bass tracks 🛶

After a little hiatus we’re finally back with a new mix.
We met mFX last year at the Remoto store, when he pulled out all the bombs, that we didn’t even know we had. Seeing his digging skills live in action directly let to him revving our little mix series with a set full of bombs.
mFX is from Leipzig where he opened the Sleeve++ Recordstore. Now Berlin-based we are 100 % sure that you will hear a lot about him in the future.

"I am Julius, known as menzel, a decade-long practicing selector and part of the Nihil Collective crew. For this mix, I sought inspiration from the Multifun and Multimix universe. I aimed to adopt its uplifting, modern, and diverse approach—attributes that come to mind when I think of it. I adjusted my usual sound, unlocking the proggy and acid side while focusing on the dramaturgy, something that is important to me in a mix."
