'Music They Love'... we ask DJ's and producers to delve into their collection and put together a selection of records that have meant a lot to them in the past, as well as the present. All things inspirational and influential - the records which have shaped their sound as a producer or selection as a DJ.

This week we're joined by the A class beat-maker Admin (@adminuk). He is known for taking inspiration in his productions from his record collection and today he gets to show off his records even further, in a wicked all-vinyl mix for us. Here's what he had to say about the mix:

"So this one is an all vinyl mix that went in a late night power Disco direction. I love Disco of an underground flavour and am heavily influenced by the styles of Ron Hardy and other amazing more current Chicago DJs. This is a kind of tribute to that sound and a gathering of 12 inch records that bring a crazy vibe for dancers. I've tried to harness the energy of being able to return to playing in the club for this... buckle up...!

Expect edit weapons, extended disco mixes, Italo heaters, jazz funk madness, electric gospel and psychedelic dance floor treasures."

Jungle music has taken on many forms over the years, but one consistent hallmark has been its rich dubplate culture. For many of the sound’s leading artists, every record played in a mix or DJ set comes with its own unique story of how it landed there, often because it will never be heard again.

International collective Chopstick Dubplate have shown this throughout their career. While the crew are most obviously affiliated with their Chopstick Dubplate imprint, they’re just as well known for their mixtapes, where they pull together unreleased material from across the spectrum of jungle and ragga music.

On 12th January, we invite founding members Aries, Jacky Murda and Demolition Man to play Room One as part of a drum & bass and jungle heavy bill. To mark the occasion, they sent us over a free download of their new Taqueria Chopstick recording, an hour-long mixtape fully stacked with dubplates from the crew and some of their closest peers.

The recordings bring together the human energy of a 16-piece ensemble and the album's harp-laden and group vocal driven first single "Bora" is the perfect capture of the big open sound of a large group playing together in a room in all its imperfect fun & glory.
