Doxology (Presentation of Christ)

This psalm is one of the most powerful and illustrative of prophetic psalms. It so elegantly takes the worshipper through a journey from Great Friday to the Resurrection of Christ.

The whole essence of salvation is so powerfully transmitted in the few words of this psalm.

Furthermore, the psalm applies even more beautifully to the second coming of Christ. In this way, it demonstrates hope in Christ's resurrection in times of darkness and perversion.

In this psalm, more than others, the chanter exercised a liberty in splitting from the typical translation of the Coptic Book of Hours, when, in certain phrases, that translation was found to be less than indubitable.

My Coptic Church is a song about the strength of the Coptic Church since its establishment by St. Mark, the Apostle of Christ. Our Lord has never left His Church and His Church has never left her Orthodox faith, given to us by Jesus Christ Himself. Through the blood of the courageous martyrs, the suffering of the confessors, the diligence of the fathers, and the faithfulness of the believers, the Coptic Church holds fast the traditional and essential dogma that Christ intended for the whole world. We hold fast to this precious gem and guard it with our lives through God’s evident grace and care for His Church.
