We finally welcome back one of the original LT fam, with Imre Kiss taking the reigns for a full on raw-power white label.

With two lucid and hazy releases for LT in his wake, plus an excellent contribution to the Proto Sites catalogue, Imre finally returns with a rough and overdriven in-the-dance EP of floor-crushing fire.

Never is an up-tempo late-night stomp from the night bus exit through dark estate alleys, dogs barking into the long night, soundtracked by percussive late night synth meddling and rumpeting drum patterns that shift and shake.

Taking a lower slung approach, Stateless is a hard-welded fusion of Detroit techno pads and 2-step bass heavy throbs. Absolute cracked-speaker material and one that wouldn't be out of place in a 2010 London basement.

Taking the flip-side solo, Untitled closes out the EP in destructive style, showcasing the heaviest and more crushing side of Imre's productions. The eerie caressing flanger sets the unnerving tone, slowly oscillating over crunched-up kicks. Another massive blown-out bass-line precedes a creepy vocal whisper and more mid-heavy percussive artefacts that crackle and snap a wavy, drifting pad that lingers it's way anonymously into the mix.

Claude Speeed returns to Planet Mu, two years after the 'Sun Czar Temple' EP, with his second album 'Infinity Ultra'. He describes the record he's been creating since he started making computer music as one "conceiving an interior territory: an abstract space to process the oppression, confusion and insanity of the contemporary age; and to formulate an honest emotional and artistic response - a psychic jumping off point into an uncertain future." 
 
'Infinity Ultra' takes inspiration from sleep paralysis, monumental artworks, children’s anime, abandoned places, ghostly rave pasts and terrifying silicon valley futures, and the limitless anger of the digital present.
 
These influences have been channelled into an impressionistic burst of varied creativity: Shimmering VSTs; monolithic noise; euphoric blocks of colourful sound; trance stabs and the citrus rush of hardcore; towering drones, and skynet math rock – all rendered against cold, sinister space and nostalgic synth melodies.
 
The album reveals the artist’s Scottish roots, viewed at a hazy distance from his Berlin home - a series of memories of Glasgow’s experimental psychedelic underground, its DIY rock scene and defiant club hedonism. These genre relationships are blurred and at times they contrast with audible brutality; the result is a hybrid, sculptured way of rendering music – minimal specifics, maximum emotions.

⁉️ In his uncompromising debut, Regular Citizen hums the tunes of his daily mood storms with 12 minimalistic electronic compositions. Ordinary life is nothing but a curtain of dreams, a display of emotions and circumstances made unique by his sensitivity. 

⁉️ Grown up on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, in the russian port city of Nakhodka, east of Vladivostok, Ivan Olegovich aka Regular Citizen has been describing his life through music since his early childhood, when his father bought him an old piano. His unique sensitivity has been refined through his youth - playing drums in punk bands and city parades, working as a DJ and studio engineer at the local Radio. Now in his early 30s, his attitude toward composition is an exercise of concentration, or as he describes: “a movement towars a inner target.”

On his third album as Trickfinger, John Frusciante makes the jump from Acid Test to its leftfield sub-label, Avenue 66, to unleash the full scope of his vision. On She Smiles Because She Presses The Button, the legendary, LA-based cult figure, presents his most diverse yet cohesive album to date. 

Frusciante has the melodic and programming chops to jump from style to style while sounding only like himself. "Amb 21" is the welcome middle-ground between Balearic and IDM while "Brise” with its quick syncopations and rhythmic groove provide a contrasting fabric. Elsewhere, JF caroms through electro and pastoral, "intelligent" ambient. The common thread through this quixotic journey are his trademark, timeless melodies. 

For years now, Frusciante has immersed himself in machines, learning tracker programs, synths and drum machines inside and out, applying the same, tireless approach he's exhibited throughout his career. On She Smiles Because She Presses The Button, this period of intense study leads intense creative liberation.
