Chocolate

You know, you left a couple spaces here,
I filled them in with my favourite colours
in case you look back over it in a few years,
it's no big deal, I cannot help myself from wondering.

But one night I was feeling awful clever  
so I spent it looking for your clues. 
And I thought "this sure is something hopeful,
wish I could do more than visit you."  

But the future, oh it's different,
we'll be so much more than two tourists waving hands.
Yeah, there's a halfway homeland 
in the middle of the ocean, where we'll stand...
oh, what's between us anyway? 

No you don't show yourself much at all round here,
but I'm a master of a builder,
And I've been wondering how we can disappear to somewhere
floating free, just like the secret that we sink into.

But you told me you were leaving, 
and all I said was "yeah, me too." 
But I found a famous poet,
and I think he looks a lot like you. 

And the future, oh it's different 
we'll be so much more than two tourists waving hands.
Yeah, there's a halfway homeland

what's in our questions, anyway? 

It's no big deal, I was just wondering
do you like to see your projects through? 
Cause we're just the past times of two strangers 
who like to split themselves in two.
But no, don't mind me, it's such a dream,
I saw the middle of an ocean view
and I was feeling awful hopeful...
do you think we'll both be travelling soon?

Tourists

I realise I'll never see
my daydreams come to life, 
and I cannot breathe, my stomach turns
to try and look anywhere besides
a child's illustrated drawing 
of my beautiful insides
that's always hanging like 
a crime
behind my eyelids 
every night.  

And I know what the trouble is, 
I'm not running out of time,
no, it's another kind of sickness 
where no matter what I try,
I'm always too small, too far away 
to see my paradise.
But I still can't take my 
eyes off the horizon,
it plagues me like a Siren 
with such sweet tales 
of a finish line.
