Orchestral and Symphonic soundtracks

Various ideas.

My process is as follows:

1: Record all instrument tracks using just my voice and sounds I can make with my mouth. At this point all I am trying to do is bang out a very fast vocal arrangement. If I don't like it, then it is easy to scrap.

2: Gradually replace each vocal instrument track with instrumental tracks, usually these are MIDI-sequenced VST instruments. I use a cheap USB MIDI keyboard and record groups of notes in passes, quantize and adjust velocities in post.

NB: The second last track is entirely vocal.
The last track has only a few vocals replaced so you can get an idea of the process.

Symphonic Sketches

A short loop, maybe for an intro screen or menu or something.

I made this after spending a few hours going through each and every one of Miroslav Philharmonik's patches because for the longest time I was always using just a fraction of its potential.

So in the end I made a piece that was a third of the usual length of my pieces that consumed 8 (half of) Philharmonik's channels, but I feel it's a lot more natural sounding in each of the elements used. Man, some of those channels do just ONE thing, like play the egg shaker, or ring a gong. It seems inefficient, but I feel that the volume levels feel more balanced and rounded out. (I always have trouble with my instruments fighting a loudness battle)

Weekly beats submission for week 5 --- 05/02/2012

Was originally trying to use this in order to focus on writing music, that well, sounds like proper music with chord structure and melody.  I wrote a small melody but it went somewhere else from there. 
I rather like the final result and reminds me a lot of something Dan Deacon would write in some ways.
LSDJx1 - light compression/limiting, a miniscule amount of reverb, and a touch of enhanced transient filtering.

I dedicate this song to all the amazing talented people that I've met and those I've yet to meet. You surround me on all sides with amazing collective talent that should be shared with everyone. <3
