Is the Hyenah from Joburg or from Berlin? It could be both, or maybe
neither. We don’t know. And we don’t really care because the music has hit
us in a huge way and we’re just happy to be bringing you this serious club
pressure with the debut Hyenah release here on Freerange. On lead track
The Wish (Dub) we’re treated to a percussion fueled, bass-heavy monster of
a track which balances the dextrous, fluid grooves of the Motherland with
immaculate teutonic sonics just perfectly. Slowly moving strings create a
wonderful tension as the rhythm builds in intensity with rattling drums
taking centre stage and jumping out of the mix like firecrackers.

Next up we have King Kobra which goes straight for the jugular with a
stripped-back, bare-bones groove, a beautifully simple percussion rhythm
becoming all you need for the main hook. Dubbed out deep house minimalism
is the name of the game here, with the hypnotic beats drawing you in and
the fat Hyenah production engulfing you like a sandstorm.

Flip over for a brilliant remix from our favorite French DJ and producer
Manoo.  This man has been responsible for some of the finest soul-tinged
and afro-infused house music over the last 10 years with releases on
Deeply Rooted House, Buzzin’ Fly and Real Tone.  His remixes for everyone
from Maya Jane Coles and Louis Vega to Osunlade and Terrence Parker are
testament to the skills possessed.  Once again Manoo delivers in spades
with this remix of The Wish, keeping the overall vibe intact but adding a
rolling bassline, extra vocal hits and extending the arrangement into a
most glorious ten minute workout.

The latest addition to the Anjunadeep ranks are up and coming UK house act Journeyman, who join the Lane 8, Dusky and Lancelot in the ever expanding label family. 

Having first caught the A&R attention at AnjunaHQ with their remix of Brookes Brothers last summer, Journeyman then truly marked their arrival on the scene with "Get Closer" / "Sideways" on New State Music.

The "Spend It All EP" further develops and showcases Journeyman's exciting approach to melodic club music. Already supported by the likes of The Magician, Jody Wisternoff and Shir Khan, lead track "Spend It All" is a rolling weapon, fuelled by surging low-end, infectious vocal and rattling percussion.

The atmospheric "Constellation" ventures into spacier territory, blending harmonically chopped and distorted vocals with another deep, driving bassline keeping this one firmly rooted to the dance floor. 

Featuring the soulful vocals of Vikter Duplaix, "In The Dark" is a low-slung jam, built around a throbbing bassline and bouncy percussion, which rounds off Journeyman's debut Anjunadeep EP in fine style.

An emperor of the remixing culture, Tapesh ran a five week (and going) stint on Beatport's Top 10 Indie Dance / Nu Disco genre with his remix of Lou Lou Players' "Hum Hum" on Bunny Tiger.

This summer, his solo talents have soared to a new level as "That Noise" takes over the Leena 038. The three-track EP also features "Brigade" and "Hey".

Piers Crozier joins Resonance Records bringing three rumbling house numbers plus a pair of robust remixes from Leftwing & Kody and Max Chapman.

The mind behind Cheshire Garden Party, Piers Crozier made his first appearance on Max Chapman’s Resonance Records in June as part of the label’s ‘Various Artists Volume 4’. The arrival of ‘TNT’ EP marks Crozier’s debut release as he joins the established imprint’s roster boasting Richy Ahmed, Waifs & Strays, wAFF, Cera Alba and DJ W!ld.

‘TNT’ combines a warped spoken vocal with rhythmic percussion and a sultry low-end for a vibe laid back and club ready. ‘Someone’ then ups the energy with a warm analogue bassline and undulating kicks, before ‘One, Two’ combines Hip Hop elements with robust house sounds. Max Chapman then remodels ‘TNT’ into a cavernous dancefloor focused cut, before Sankeys Ibiza residents Leftwing & Kody forge the track into a weighty roller with a compelling groove.
