MOD82 Podcast Series

Uncertainty, excitement, expectations and hope define pretty well what’s behind the launchment of a space mission. Everything has been calculated,  measured and prepared, but reality is always unpredictable, so results and success are never guaranteed. Experience and intuition may help in order to reach the desired planet’s orbit. Italian artist Alessandro Russo, known as Evod (@evodmusic), has used both to deliver Sonde Spaziali EP, the new release on Exoplanets’ 30D Sub label, a tribute to four different spatial projects that have taken place in the last decades from different parts of the world. 

Techno has been, almost since its inception, an excellent soundtrack for spatial exploration, as experimenting and having no boundaries in creation are key to start the trip. In Sonde Spaziali, Evod, fully aware of techno’s potential, recreates all the complex emotions kept into the challenge  of  reaching  space,  being able to bring us back to Earth to share and spread the discoveries, fully dance floor compatible. On our 19th instalment of the series, we welcome an Amsterdam based young Dj/producer, CARDO.

As a kid he saw his father spinning records all the time and these experiences with music had a great influence on his life. This ultimately became his inspiration for becoming an artist himself and made him turn this passion into solid ambitions.
+
CARDO’s sound tends more to the deeper and abstract side of techno. He uses this sound to build up tension by subtly increasing the intensity of the atmosphere in his sets.
He already delivered his sound in multiple clubs as Paradiso, Panama and the Spanish club, Zeppelin.

Next to playing dj-sets, CARDO also started to focus on producing and putting together a live set. Therefore he recently started his own label COMPLOT and his productions are already supported by Dutch masters ROD and Sterac.

A native of the south of France, and currently based in Berlin, Perfo produces a sound which is characterised by dark undertones, raw rhythms, and a hypnotic dimension. From digital sounds and textures of noise ranging from ambient to mental techno, Perfo is discovering and spanning a collection of experimental spaces as links between past and future. First, as a Dj in Marseille and then later as a producer. Perfo moved to Berlin in order to focus on further artistic development. He became infatuated with the city, with Berlin winning a place in his heart due to its unparalleled range of inspiration, and constantly evolving electronic music scene.​
