Though relatively small in size, the Finnish scene has provided the internationale of techno with some key players over the years, including our next RYC show guest, Samuli Kemppi. Having stacked some impressive releases for the likes of Ostgut-Ton, Mote Evolver, Nonplus, M_Rec and more, the Helsinki-based sound architect’s name has become synonymous with top-of-the-range deep and hi-impact 4x4 DJ wares. Dwelling the subliminal frontier betwixt pitch-dark ambiences, laser-precise rhythmic mastery and an ever-astoundingly minute care for sound design, Samuli’s trenchantly hypnotic style sure lacks no floor-enslaving potency as his new mix for us attests to. Despite the high level of production quality in her work, Irish-born Kerrie is a relative newcomer. Nowadays her calendar’s filling up with gigs from Medellín to her adoptive city of Manchester, but for a long time she honed her skills on the other side of the decks and at the latter’s Eastern Bloc. These formative years have now blossomed into a fully fledged career as head of her own Dark Machine Funk label and as published artist under Don’t Be Afraid and I Love Acid to name a few. Her trademark is hulking, angular cuts and grainy, analog textures of the Blueprint stripe, a label which has fittingly taken her under its wing with her Raw Regimen EP just released in March. Bassiani Podcast 127 is a serpentine, kick-heavy studio mix by the new and exciting talent.

Hailing from Belgium, Border One has amassed an irrefutable reputation in his home country and beyond since the release of his first 12-inch record in 2015. Between a fascination for sound discovery through the use of his modular synthesizer and his loyalty to the classic club rhythms, Border One’s style serves as a swiss-army knife for promoters and DJ’s on an international level. 
With a self description expressing a priority to make the crowd move, his music does not fall short of its intention. Forward thinking in its conception rendered highly functional in its implementation, Border One’s music finds middle ground in an increasingly polarized musical climate for the genre; whether it be through his selection as a DJ or his technicality as a producer. Considering this, his release catalogue seems only appropriate. He has released EP’s on Knowledge Imprint, Setaoc Masse’s SK-X, his own Border One Records, Freddy K’s KEY vinyl imprint, and the infamous Token Records to name a few.

Based in Barcelona, Mod.1 is an uprising artist well known in town for his long vinyl sets and his in-depth knowledge of analog machines. 
Despite his celebrated oldschool taste, he's constantly trying to figure out how the future will sound and he is always exploring new possibilities in the studio.
His vision is pretty clear and what he has to say musically is promising: a mixture between profound melodies and strong percussions that lead to certain mental atmospheres only reachable by the finest techno. 
Mod.1 debuted as a producer with a track released by Node Recordings followed by another one in Post Dynamic.
