And lo, did the Seladorians once again traverse the planet, seeking only the very best in sumptuous sounds, music that would rock the dancefloors to their very core. And verily we did land in Panama, where we reconnected once more with Carlos Barbero. ‘Wake Up’, his warmly received Selador debut last year, had received more plaudits than Lord Plaudit of Plauditsville on National Plaudits Day.

“Please sir,” we said, trembling in anticipation, “can we have some more?” My friends, we think you know the answer, for it resides here with you right now, a floor filler of epic proportions direct from the Barbero bunker, featuring a goosebump-generating vocal and remixers of great repute. 

‘Closer to Closure’ is the title and all versions showcase the sublime vocal performance of Dom Fricot (he of Anjunadeep and Systematic Recordings fame). The original mix is a thing of beauty, marrying brooding subtlety with striking hooks. File under essential.

We are also overjoyed to have a Selador label debut courtesy of a remix from one of our favourite producers. Yulia Niko(for it is she) is a globetrotting maestro currently resident in Berlin. Her interpretation goes deeeeeep, but also showcases the haunting vocal to brilliant effect.

Berlin's finest Matchy returns to ICONYC with an absolute classy piece of music entitled 'Iconic People' featuring Heartskin on vocals. The German producer who has been a prominent mainstay in the electronic underground kicks' things off nicely with his original mix of 'Iconic People'. The full-on festival vibes shine through, as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry chords and Heartskin's vocal sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. Matchy's trademark beat manipulation is prevalent, as all manner of elements drift in and out of earshot. Perfect for beat loving club crowd or to close a big night out in style. 

Raphael Mader, who has been coming through the ranks at lightspeed, certainly needs no introduction. He created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as their restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

Next up we welcome Mattia Pompeo for his debut on the label, the Italian maestro known for his polished sound, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh – His transcendent touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. Wonderful remix from Mattia.

With 'Iconic People' Matchy really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful melodic gem guides you to a full-on club laden, melodic hug of a release that will cause many smiles induced moments! Just This returns with its first collaboration between Hunter/Game and Croatian born DJ/producer,  Petar Dundov. 

The first track “Voices” follows a techno path where an emotional melody arrives after the main break, sounding like an artificial vocal. In the second track ‘Terca’ we can see the typical progression of a Dundov production, which gets you lost in a 10 minute “descriptive word here” journey. 
The EP finishes off with a remix of Voices by both Dundov and Hunter/Game, and follows the mood of the EP mixing the two artists' imagery and giving to the track a new perspective.
