"The influence and presence of trap and rap in dance/experimental is obviously massive, and the lines between genres are more blurred than ever. HAJJ, however, says this is a recent thing; “I find that the electronic scene in France is just starting to encourage the integration of this culture. Not so long ago people insulted me when I played rap/trap in my sets.”

The underpinning idea for this compilation brought electronic producers not explicitly of that world to unpick whatever boundaries remain and contribute tracks for a mixtape – while a few of the artists are more obviously ready to “play the game” and already make music which exists pretty close to this horizon, this has been a challenge to think creatively for a few of the other artists invited."

Afin d’y répondre, les artistes présent.e.s sur la compilation proposent dix récits musicaux comme réponses ou tentatives d'interprétations d'autres mondes possibles.

DÉLITEMENT veut illustrer l'expérience sonore d'une personne à la découverte de ces nouvelles réalités à l'œuvre. Iel y voit un monde qui s’affole, où s’entrechoquent des systèmes à bout de souffle, reliques brutalistes d’une société dépassée, un nihilisme festif et une digitalisation exacerbée. Inévitablement, la nature a repris ses droits sur ce monde morne, gluant et pesant, devenant à la fois le danger présent et l'imminence d'un futur à reconstruire.

Ola Radio is Bordeaux's cultural webradio, which focuses on electronic music. Launched in January 2019 by passionate people, it brings together more than 80 residents from Bordeaux, from France and from the world. Each week, new guests punctuate the program schedule. Heterogeneous, plural and singular, Ola Radio stands out from its peers by its eclecticism, it reinvents itself over time.
