Moderna Records presents Algorithmics, a brand new compilation of piano-based works curated specially for Piano Day 2017. Algorithmics includes contributions from Moderna artists Tambour, Ed Carlsen and Tim Linghaus, who wrote brand new pieces for this release, as well as Daigo Hanada, whose ‘Once Heard’ originates from sessions for his LP 'Ichiru'. Rounding out the compilation are contributions from UK composer/pianists Matt Emery and Danny Mulhern, New Zealand based composer Levi Patel, and Berlin based minimalist composer/producer Sebastian Morawietz.

Light Falls

Untitled 28 was a sculpture, video and sound installation created in 28 days by artist Marie-Louise Jones and composer Lucy Claire. It was exhibited in July 2017 at Here East in London as part of Gavin Turk and Anna Maloney’s show, Inside Out. 

The music reflects each sculpture in the installation and explores themes of duality and pairs through atmospheric binaural recordings, beautiful violin melodies and vocal textures. The materials used in the physical installation; wood, stone and metal play a prominent role in the soundtrack and the sounds created when collided together were used to create unusual textures which were weaved into the piece.

This "Fragments" album includes 8 piano solo pieces that I composed during the lockdown. The compositions are inspired by the strange situation that we all lived and by the beauty of the everyday life that always helps me to be happy despite the difficulties of life. I recorded all the tracks in my living room, on my Schimmel upright felted piano.
