Good morning, and welcome to the quietest week of the year. Did you have a good holiday? Before I sign off for the year, I think I’ve got one more gem to share with you. Here's a wonderful label showcase and a reflection on this past year from a lovely independent Valencia-based imprint, Archives, curated and operated by Agustín Mena, aka Warmth. I’ve profiled plenty of its releases since its inception in 2015, and I must admit that Warmth’s Parallel (2018) has been on repeat more than others. If anything, it is only rivalled by Glow, which is his collaboration with Fionnlagh, recently released on December 8th, 2023 (you’ll hear a few tracks on this mix). This is the 116th Ambient Sessions presented by Deep Electronics. These monthly released sessions brings you the best and the most diversity Ambient music can offer. This month  Synthbiont is back with a brand new set  called: Dream or Perception?

This set was recorded live during an ambient sleeping night in a church reconverted into an art atelier in the countryside nearby Groningen. Ethereal and atmospheric sounds, deep dark drones, organic field recordings, and processed samples from the iconic movie Waking Life compose this music trip dedicated to the experience of dreaming. The idea behind the mix was to recreate a oneiric soundscape in which the listener can reflect and explore the conscious/unconscious state of mind, guiding her/him through an emotional and suggestive sonic journey. Music from @abul-mogard, Simone Giud, @simonegatto_qui_ed_ora, @astralindustries, @cryochamberlabel, Silentes/13, and many others.

About:
Synthbiont is Nicoló Faggiani (@__vinylkite__), an Italian DJ and vinyl lover with a deep passion for ambient music living in Groningen, the Netherlands. Together with @tommasogobbo, he founded the ambient project @synthbiont_anassimandrus in early 2019, releasing music for renowned ambient labels and podcast series such as Secuencias Temporales, Deep Electronics, Silent Season, and many others.

About:

After 20years of DJing for mainly personal enjoyment, more recently Chris transitioned from techno / house to curating mixes in the ambient genre after his relatively recent foray into deep listening through meditation. This mix takes inspiration from his frequent runs / hikes around the south of England & in Scotland where the music is a key component of the experience. He's been a fan of the ambient genre for many years & this mix reflects the music that contributes towards the atmosphere of being in special places, usually very early in the morning, but equally is suited to deep listening sessions where he hopes the music can create a journey that takes the listener through a journey of textures, melodies & emotions with frequencies that can help contribute towards a state of deep relaxation.

Hello dear friends. Today, let's welcome Saphileaum for the 21th episode of the Stellar Series.

Born in Tbilisi, Georgia. The project was influenced by the pulsating local techno scene and strongly inspired by foreign artists like Anthony Linell / Abdulla Rashim, Acronym & Luigi Tozzi. He found his own style in deep and atmospheric techno, intepreting this in a more consciousness-expanding way while combining a variety of ambient and hypnotic soundscapes. Constantly pushing new releases on labels like NORITE, Controlled Violence and Lett Records, Saphileaum has also played alongside techno veterans like In Aeternam Vale and Stanislav Tolkachev in the past.

Here, Saphileaum provides a list of ambient, tribal and rhythmic  hypnotic soundscapes. Dive deep into the realms of esoteric and theosophical forest with the man who "sees people as they are and not as they pretend to be".
