This is a new one called Love and Hate from the recordings I did this year at Creative Studios, it will feature on my newly reworked album out this year called When Young Men Show the Signs of Times. I played my 12 string on this one and I also had the privilege of being joined by Chris Davison (Deferred Sucess/Silver Truth/Set Adrift/Ed Rome) on double bass.

Love and Hate

This is a collaboration with Muddy Summers and the Dirty Field Whores. The music is an instrumental song I wrote in November and dedicated to my dad, it was on the anniversary of his funeral... 11-11-2011. I sent the track to Gail who has since added vocals to it  which she wrote while her dad was ill.... I'm really happy with it see what you think...

And I'm not getting the whole thing for hot looks

But I don't want to write about the joys of being shit on.. 



So I guess these are words about nothing,

I'm not feeling the urge to write about a hard childhood

This planet needs saving, but this pen can't do that, 

And my political thoughts are feeling pretty flat.. 



I'm not into creating the latest dance craze 

Or rambling on about those oh so happy days.. 

Drugs and guns are off the agenda 

So why did I pick up this pen? I don't remember..

This was one of my first songs and had a gauranteed place on my set lists for a long time. It's not going to be on my album so I've decided to make it a free download. It is a tale of modern life and it's symptoms like the vast majority of my earlier songs!. The guitar playing is mostly inspired by Jimmy Page and Billy Corgan and hopefully the words explain themselves ok!. Credit for the artwork here goes to my nephew Charlie....
