Ich habe sie mir nie richtig angeschaut, weil ich aufgrund der Umstände, durch die die Bilder zu mir kamen, keine Beziehung zu ihnen aufbauen konnte. Wieso, weshalb, warum - ich kann es nicht sagen - aber vielleicht gebe ich ja die Antwort in dem Song, den ich Anfang Oktober vor zwei Jahren geschrieben habe? . "Souvenirs from Venice". A gondola rides on calm waters,
accompanies me to this day.
Mysterious images from Venice Have been with me for many years.
I looked at them properly for the first time today -
the gifts from another time.
A name adorns the pictures on the wall,
barely recognizable, signed in a delicate hand.
The lines in black and white,
drawn in the mid-90s in sunny Italy.

have accompanied me for decades,
I saw them today for the first time with my eyes open,
the souvenirs from another time.

have conquered my soul.
