Merry Christmas everyone! Please enjoy this free track entitled 'Blissfully Aware'. I started this track around this time last year and haven't done all that much to it since. I had planned on spending the day mastering it yesterday, but unfortunately I spent most of the day tucked up in bed with the lurgie, so I've yet to test this version on monitors. Fingers crossed it should be okay. 

You may have heard me play this in sets throughout 2014, or possibly as part of fellow Liquifyah compadré Hugh Hardie's Hospital Records mix on BBC Radio 1Xtra back in June this year.

I have been sitting on quite a lot of music this year and I'm really excited to show you all the fruits of my labour in 2015! Keep your eye on this page, new music going up from January onwards.

Makoto, a man who’s been instrumental in Japan’s drum & bass movement since the birth of the genre, now signed exclusively to Hospital Records presenting his fifth solo album ‘Salvation’. A perfect fit bringing that trademark sound across 14 tracks of authentic soul and rolling jazz inspirited drum & bass.

‘I Don’t Wanna Wake Up’ featuring the outstanding vocals of Karina Ramage is the perfect summertime roller. Delightfully hypnotic, this will be a staple selection for any DJ worth their salt over the coming months, catching its premiere on Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio 1 slot. Makoto also empowers Karina’s topline prowess on the hauntingly beautiful ‘Winds Of Change’.

Following suit, the vocally driven ‘Salvation’ ft DRS balances an elegant ambiance with grittier elements. Switching to ‘Primitive Galaxy’ which focuses more on high-energy dancefloor impact but still with his distinctive bassline groove and melodic stabs. A jazzy riff takes the lead in ‘Fancy Free’ with celestial vocals and staccato drums, invoking a euphoric trance that all liquid tracks strive for.

Already having an enriched history across Good Looking and his own imprint Human Elements, Makoto is a leader in the art of funk, soul and jazz entrenched drum & bass. Following his recent European tour Makoto will make a welcomed return to our shores this summer at Mysteryland, Lockdown Festival and Hospitality In The Park.

Never confined to one solitary genre, Toolroom Records latest release expands the diverse range of styles the imprint continues to push. Historical house cut ‘Do You Want Me Baby’ is brought back to life with an eclectic set of remixes alongside Victor Simonelli’s original Cloud 9 piece, sounding as fresh today as when originally conceived.

Celebrated as leading lights in UK house, London-based duo Dusky are first to deliver. Known for a melting-pot sound fused by a key drive to compose deep and soulful electronic music, the duo’s take on ‘Do You Want Me Baby’ slots perfectly into these eclectic ideals; a warm serving of bass-driven house with depth, the result. With Dusky support continually escalating from DJs as diverse as Pete Tong, Jamie Jones, Toddla T, Boddika, Sasha & beyond, this remix is cemented already as a future classic.

Remixing from the opposite end of the musical spectrum, legendary drum and bass producers Total Science return to Toolroom fresh from the Radio 1 playlisted ‘Piano Funk’. An intelligent sub heavy liquid remix that pays homage to old school DnB, the result mirrors the heritage that the original track holds in house circles. Plus with Total Science’s Toolroom support already including Bailey, DJ Marky, Friction and Mistajam, this re-lick holds promise to once more cause waves with the bass scene elite.

Finally, no remixes are ever possible without a fantastic source, and so it is Toolroom’s privilege to offer a fresh master of Simonelli’s US house classic for 2012. Raising the production just enough to complement the two accompanying stunning remixes, Cloud 9’s original anthem offers a fitting conclusion to another class Toolroom release.

Drum & Bass Producer/DJ based in Bristol.

Modify Perspective is a Drum & Bass producer based in the UK and is best known for being head honcho of 'Liquifyah', which was hailed of one of the UK's premier D&B Collectives in it's hay day.

His mostly Liquid-driven productions gained a decent amount of support form names big and small worldwide and has seen releases on Viper Recordings and Lockdown alongside a number of self-releases. 

Hanging up the headphones in 2016 to focus on starting what is now Bristol's highest rated screen printing company Fyahfly Screen Print, his production has been put on hiatus for now and he's no longer touring or playing out quite as much. He does pop out of retirement from time to time to scratch the itch (or whenever Tribe Of Frog hops into the DMs). 

DJ shows are always full of energy, wether playing at prime time to a packed dance floor wanting it heavy, or more relaxed and intimate shows that require a deeper ambient Liquid vibe.

Although on indefinite hiatus, this isn't to say that one day a return might be on the cards. Having managed and developed the budding careers of artists such as Phaction (Metalheadz), Hugh Hardie (Hospital Records), Ill Truth (Symmetry Recordings), Octo Pi (Viper Recordings), Akov (Symbiotik Records, RAM) and Trafic MC, there's certainly a strong network of support in place should he switch the lights on in the studio again.
