Annastazia “Duchess” Unce is a dynamic DJ, dancer, and
movement artist dedicated to creating safe, inclusive, and
accessible spaces where music, culture, and community can
thrive. A proud native of the DMV, Duchess is deeply
committed to preserving Black and minority culture, with a
special focus on genres rooted in Washington, D.C., including
Go-Go, hip-hop, funk, R&B, and house music.


Her artistry is grounded in the belief that music is a spiritual
force—a healing tool that fosters connection, uplifts the spirit,
and offers liberation through rhythm and soul. Duchess’s sets
are infused with fiery energy and soulful vibrations, designed
not just to move bodies but to move hearts.


Currently, she serves as an Artist Fellow with the Words, Beats
& Life Project 2040 Fellowship, recognized for her work as a DJ
and her advocacy for mental health and neurodiverse
communities. Her latest project, Cue the Cure, is a
transformative monthly experience featuring a three-part soul
tune-up: sound healing, community discussion pods, and a
high-vibe afterparty. The goal is to create joyful, intentional
spaces that restore the spirit and combat isolation.


Through her work, DJ Duchess is on a mission to build a better
world—one where music heals, mental health is prioritized, and
no one dances alone.
