Thought I'd share some of the music I do on Soundcloud. I was in an eight piece band called The Angry Amigos, and with that many opinions floating about, some of my stuff won't get used so I'm putting them on here just to get some feedback (positive or negative). Since leaving The Angry Amigos I've got another band together going by the name of CHARABANC DREAMS, featuring Anne Hollifield on bass and vocals, Nixie Porrit on sax and brass, Steve Elliot on percussion and ukelele, John Lawson, guitars, vocals and bad jokes and myself  on guitars and bad vocals. The music is the thing with me, my lyrics are not good,nor are my vocals. Most of the drum tracks are mine programmed into a Yamaha QY 8 or more recently a QY 70 sequencer, as are some of the keyboard tracks. As for the "organic" instruments, well, to try and keep it as fresh as possible, I do them in one take, no drop-ins....make a mistake....start again, although if there's a mistake but it does'nt spoil things too much, I'll leave them in. There's nothing groundbreaking or original in my music, just stuff that comes to me and it's all obviously influenced by the music I've absorbed in my life, but maybe, one day I'll come up with something that is NEW....that's the dream anyway. 
The stuff that has influenced me? Well, I suppose Free, Neil Young and all the sixties pop I grew up with, but then there's Talking Heads/Johnny Marr/ dare I say early Peter Gabriel solo stuff/ and in recent years, Bon Iver/CSS/Supergrass.But hey I discover and re-discover stuff all the time. 
The first few things on here I've already got out on Myspace, but any new stuff there after I'll put on here. 
On these tracks I play guitar/bass/mandolin and rudimentry keyboards.Graham Pearson plays bass on Wasted Education and Bursting with Apathy. My brother Brad plays drums on Wasted Education. Mihkel Nurk (aka Tyke) wrote the lyric for The Morning After
 and You Are What You Say That You Hate.....the latter I now perform with The Amigos and Judith does a great job with the vocals.

All what you hear on here are recorded on a tascam portastudio (Digital 8 track) and a boss dr-3 drum machine. SIMPLE recording is the way for me. Plug in and play no sitting there and writing words chords or notes.
All these track are made up on the spot and that is how it should be done i think.
I am in a band called Yellowcayke and we released an album last year and we are halfway through the next one at the moment.
I also do cds with a friend who is a mad poet from far far away place, we call ourselfs AK47 and we have recorded quite a few cds and we just hand them out to friends or who ever wants one.
I use to play live pretty much every where like most people in bands but these days i choose the lazy option.
