"If you talk all the time, you will never hear what anybody else has to say, and therefore, all you'll have to talk about is your own conversation. 

The same is true for people who think all the time, that means, when I use the word 'think,' talking to yourself, subvocal conversation, the constant chit-chat of symbols and images and talk and words inside your skull.

Now, if you do that all the time, you'll find that you've nothing to think about except thinking, and just as you have to stop talking to hear what others have to say, you have to stop thinking to find out what life is about. 

And the moment you stop thinking, you become into immediate contact with what Korzybski called, so delightfully, 'the unspeakable world'.
The most ordinary sights and sounds and smells, the texture of shadows on the floor in front of you. All these things, without being named, and saying 'that's a shadow, that's red, that's brown, that's somebody's foot.' When you don't name things anylongher, you start seeing. Because say when a person says 'I see a leaf,' immediately, one thinks of a spearhead-shaped thing outlined in black and filled in with flat green. No leaf looks like that.

No, leaves... leaves are not green. That's why Lao-Tzu said 'the five colors make a man blind, the five tones make a man deaf,' because if you can only see five colors, you're blind, and if you can only hear five tones in music, you're deaf. You see, if you force sound into five tones, you force color into five colors, you're blind and deaf. The world of color is infinite, as is the world of sound. And it is only trought stopping fixing conceptions on the world of color and sound that you really begin to hear it and see it.

Let me say again, I am not talking about the ordering of ordinary everyday life in a reasonable and methodical way as being schoolteacherish, and saying 'nice if you were nice people'... For heaven's sake, don't be nice people... 

But the thing is, that unless you do have that basic framework of a certain kind of order, and a certain kind of discipline, the force of liberation will blow the world to pieces.
It's too strong a current for the wire.

Our digital catalogue turns 18! Yay! And the eighteenth release comes from one of our regulars – a man who’s managed to escape pigeonholing while being able to maintain and push a very distinct sound and develop his music production skills to a great extent in the recent 10 years spent in the studio. A man whose music is often referred to as – simply speaking – proper drum and bass. And we’re talking about Poland’s Krzysztof Goliński aka Radicall, who delivers an EP entitled “Without a Word”. The 4-track compilation is yet another illustration of his faithfulness to the roots of the genre, but also showcases his further progress as a producer. You just know it’s Radicall when you listen to “Without a Word” with its regular beat pattern, clear, fruity bassline, and vocal-infused background. “Glass Heart”, featuring Lting, stuns the listener with its dynamic percussion programming, while “No One” balances gracefully on the verge of ‘atmo’ and ‘deep’. The EP closes with “Safari” – a half-stepping / semi-syncopated track with an overwhelming bassline, bound to make you nod your head. If you’re looking for no-nonsense drum & bass with a clear structure, rich use of catchy vocal bits, and a hint of upbeat melodiousness well-balanced with a solid portion of deeper sound, Radicall’s music is exactly what you want to listen to.

Hailing from Cheshire, Submerse is an esteemed producer/DJ with a distinct and recognisable sound that traverses Beat Music, Ambient, 2-step and Autonomic whilst being punctuated by a myriad of unique and personal influences. The past year has seen him at his most prolific, releasing tracks & remixes with R&S sister label Apollo Records, Med School and many more. Submerse was featured by Pioneer Japan and was also named ‘Band Of The Week’ In The Guardian newspaper (2012). 

Amidst a plenitude of productions, Submerse has also seen support emerge from influential media titans such as DJ Mag, XLR8R, Big Up, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1xtra.

After his "They Always Come Back" EP on Apollo Records, "Tears" is already his second vinyl release this year. The EP is all about the feeling of solitude you're in upon finding yourself in a foreign country and a strangely different culture. In this situation the smallest and most usual tasks – simply finding a can of your favorite soft drink for instance – have the potential to become almost insuperable obstacles. Soaking in the atmosphere created by dim street lights on a nightly stroll to explore new territories in a vastly unknown urban space, while contemplating about new experiences and memories of home are activities to indulge in when you’re stranded all alone in an alien world.
