Past Present Future

Marvin & Guy was born in 2011 from the children of two different musical generations with a shared knowledge of how to make people dance. Influenced by legendary DJs such as Ron Hardy, Larry Levan or Tee Scott, their sound is firmly rooted in disco but keeps evolving with each release.
In their debut EP for Hivern, they keep expanding their palette with three tracks that push the boundaries between the disco culture and a techno spirit. "Egoísta" is a highly hypnotic joint driven by a warm analogue bassline and a spacey pad that has become a staple in John Talabot's sets during the lasts months. “Canción (Para Tí)" manages to blend an italo arpeggio, a 303 bassline and pumping disco beat with a certain latin spirit to create a crushing dancefloor belter. "The Man who Lost the Hat" is an obscure trip builded around psychedelic synths, a rolling bassline and topped with spooky vocal samples.
The 12” comes wrapped in a sleeve featuring pictures of México-based photographer Pia Riverola and design by Arnau Pi.

Berlin’s @ombrainternational is back with vinyl number 5 from @TheusMago (The alter ego of acclaimed Mexican artist Mateo Gonzalez. Who has had successful releases under the moniker on Turbo, Kill The DJ, Correspondant, LDN and DURO to name a few.

The ‘Ella’ EP Featuring 2 originals feat. Doog with remixes coming from Il Est Vilaine (Paris), Arthur Johnson (Brussels), and label head himself Curses.

Title track ‘Ella’ is a sexy, bass heavy, new wave track which is made for the big speakers and peak hours. We’re sure you’ll be hearing a lot of this one. Tuck in.

The rain hadn't stopped for days, a constant downpour that soaked you through to the bone. People feared to step outside into the open and instead had taken refuge in their houses. Now, little noise could be heard throughout the town except for the consistent pitter patter of raindrops on the corrugated steel roofs. This had become the soundtrack to their days, the beat to which they danced in the confines of their home. Bailando was their only escape from the continuous thrashings of mother nature. 

Mexico-based imprint Duro are gearing up to release their next EP from one of their label mates Tyu. Ransom Note mainstay Bawrut, alongside Tel Aviv producer Niv Ast, take on remixing duties, twisting the punkish drums and melodic synths of 'Bailando' into a peak time track littered with freakish vocal yelps and driving synths.
