Malandrø is a techno DJ based in Berlin. He started doing music at the age of 14, but his passion for electronic music and techno started in 2016 after moving to Berlin. He has been DJing since then. In addition, he is currently studying sound engineering and creative audio production. Malandrø is also a co-founder of the techno collective "State Of Emergency" in Berlin, where they run a series of podcasts and hope to start a series of events once Coronavirus pandemic settles down. A new face to the scene with an already established sonic identity. Driven by groovy yet hypnotic techno, he provides an hour of music for the body and the mind.

For episode sixteen we welcome: Alloctone , the Alias of Jamal Bizjan from ‘S-hertogenbosch, a city in the south of the Netherlands.

Alloctone or in Dutch: Allochtoon, means “from another soil” and is a reference to immigrant. A word created to address the non-western guest workers that helped build up this country. A controversial word that has built up quite a bad reputation over the years and to many a sign of inferiority, but not for Jamal. He made the word his own and chose it as a sign of strength, unity and to show that where you come from doesn’t matter.  

Attending his first party in 2019, Jamal’s interest in music grew even more. With the help of his good friend: Jordi, he started dj’ing around the summer of 2020. Ever since that summer Jamal has been on a constant lookout for the best of all kinds of electronic music and has had the opportunity to share his sound on multiple platforms, already leaving his footprint in the scene.

His love for music is something he doesn’t only expresses with mixing, he and Jordi also run the platform: Osu Rhytms where they bring us the best of a wide variety of tracks everyday day. In case you didn’t check them out yet, make sure you do because they have some very exciting things to be announced!


Inspired and still buzzing from the Vault sessions ADE-weekender, Jamal put together a mix filled with relentless, hard-hitting techno that leaves you no time to rest.

Marc has been passionate about music of all kinds of genres as well as subcultural scenes since his youth. In the end, being a DJ was the most fulfilling way for him to be musically active and create sonic experiences. Also because dancing is one of his great passions, his energetic mixes are always dancefloor-oriented.

Even though his sound is constantly evolving, the focus has always been on a high tempo, precise kicks, sharp hats as well as hypnotic and functional sound elements. The most important thing for him will always be the meticulous digging and selection of tracks by outstanding artists.

Besides his solo project as Nona, he is co-founder of the multidisciplinary music, art and event collective re:flect (@re_flect) based in Berlin.

MOD82 Series #044 - NONA

This week's Local Selection is from Dublin native and rising DJ and producer Aoise, as we invite her to soundtrack your Wednesday afternoon.

The young DJ and producer is a graduate of the Sunil Sharpe, Doug Cooney and DeFeKT school of excellence, having studied DJ techniques and music production at BIFE. There have been many high hitters to come from this course and after hearing Aoise's take on tunes we look forward to what's in store for her.

Her sound stems from dark, dubby techno that has developed and matured through the years, taking inspiration from the likes of Ø [Phase], Sterac, Oscar Mulero and Sleeparchive. 

Having shared lineups with some of Europe's heavy hitters Christoph Faust (FKA Inhalt Der Nacht), Sunil Sharpe, Tommy Holohan and Shampain, we expect to see much more of her in the future. 

You can catch Aoise supporting Clouds this Friday in Dublin, plus at the Life Festival launch party on April 29th in Mullingar.

Imagine growing up near Berlin, getting into dance music, going to Berghain for the first time and getting your mind blown by techno. Then, ten years later, you become a resident DJ at the fabled club. Not many people—any people?—can claim this story, but for Fadi Mohem, what would be so many DJs' dreams became a reality. After getting his 2017 debut 12-inch Reckless in the hands of all the right people in Berlin, Mohem established a bold, bouncy techno sound with releases on Modeselektor's Seilscheibenpfeiler, Ben Klock's Klockworks and FJAAK's SPANDAU20, pretty much the cream of the crop of modern techno.

Now, this year, he's becoming one of Berghain's newest residents, alongside other exciting names like Sedef Adasï and Naty Seres (and Lakuti upstairs at Panorama Bar). As heard on his recent collaborative with Ben Klock, Mohem has modern techno down to a science, thanks to a combination of reverence for the old-school and clever rhythmic touches, like the irresistible snare pattern on "Prefix." His RA Podcast sounds like what you might expect from a new generation of Berghain resident: aerodynamic, heavy and, honestly a little midtempo compared to a lot of other young techno DJs. It's the sound the club has made world-famous, with cuts from Reeko, Heiko Laux and Truncate, plus some special moments from aya, DJ Deeon and Petar Dundov. It takes a certain kind of DJ to get to this hallowed place, and Fadi Mohem deserves it.

As the son of clubber parents, he’s been working hard to honour his creative legacy under a triad of disparate pseudonyms. Makam, Slagmann, Talismann: the latter manifestation a ferocious take on his house-centred persona, under the cover of which he calls De School and Dekmantel home and explores the more uncompromising side of his nature. For anyone curious, the 29th July sees his latest work (Percussion Part 3) immortalised in wax and released via his self-titled imprint. In the meantime though, this Podcast instalment should sate that curiosity with a preview of some of his latest tracks. Bassiani Podcast 132 is packed with menacing sounds and hyperactive drum arrangements; thunderous, intensifying, peak-time beats for the most vehement techno heads.

We're excited to welcome Anna Hjalmarsson to the GF series. As a DJ, the Frankfurt-based sound artist is a resident at iconic Offenbach club Robert Johnson and local EOS Radio. She is the founder of the independent label Stoscha which features music by Guenter Råler, Air Max '97, Geocities, and others. In her recent project Echoes from the club, Hjalmarsson entered the empty spaces of Robert Johnson in Frankfurt for a set of field recordings that collected lost sounds and traces of noise from the space, mounting them into a set of samples and loops. The artist does numerous installations that speak to her Scandinavian background and combines her sound design and composition techniques. Her selection for the series is wall-to-wall techno and electronics that clearly show her distinctive style. Lock in!
