Marco Wellisch started his journey as a DJ in the nineties, when
he played his first Techno sets in Frankfurt. Still a teenager, he
had numerous appearances in Germany, Ibiza, the Netherlands,
Japan, Switzerland and the USA.
Till he moved to Berlin in 2008, he had produced music from Electro
to Techno and Progressive to Psychedelic Trance.
Known for his crispy and high energetic Techno tracks, he now created four Downbeat
pieces filled with groovy percussions, organic pads and melodic vocals.
His EP ‚Shambakla’ really shows what a versatile and exceptional artist he is.

During the past years, Illesnoise has made a name for herself in the Dutch scene as an unerring DJ with a distinctive feel for flow and melody. With ‘Nova’ she now celebrates her production debut. The result emphasises the maturity, which only a schooled DJ can bring to the table, as an enveloping bass-line glides through an arrangement of harmonic synth-bells and an emotive vocal loop. On his techno-leaning remix, Oliver Koletzki ups the tempo and focuses on peak-time atmospherics.

After a teasing hiatus, we are glad to welcome back Juli Holz, who has exchanged the emotional cotton candy for an altogether darker dance-floor-aesthetic. ‘Drive’ captivates by way of deep sawtooth bass and, of course, Juli’s brilliantly distinct voice, which can be heard here in the most diverse facets. Kind of leftfield, but marvellously danceable. Lastly, Dan Caster delivers a driving remix of epic proportions. Girl Power!

About the Ep:
In 'April' you feel spring has arrived. Magical synths and groovy baselines are a warm welcome after a long cold winter. Jonas Saalbach is preparing us for a hot long summer nights with his new EP April. 

The title track is a progressive melodical trip that has Jonas written all over it. The second track he teams up with his Croatian friend Andrea Ljekaj. ‘Vedanta’ literally translates to 'the end of the vedas’, an ancient Indian philosophy with various schools of thought based around duality and non-duality. This track takes a hypnotic and melodic direction that is very much part of Kohra’s signature style.

Berlin-based Kotelett & Zadak are up first on remix duties, tackling ‘Vedanta’. The duo are regulars at Katerblau and have previously released on key labels like Poker Flat and Exploited Ghetto. They give the original a stripped-down sound that is spooky & mysterious, trapping you in their alluring late night house atmosphere.

The latest release by the Mexican avant-garde label Akumandra is founder Sainte Vie’s three track auditive voyage: From Desolate Places and Forgotten Times. Going beyond previous experimentation with sound assemblage and sampling from non-western musical traditions, Sainte Vie crafts his signature mesmerizing soundscapes by combining dreamlike synth textures, monumental drops and vibrant melodies that feel deeply melancholic. Insistent arpeggios and expansive build ups bind the tracks together in an ebb and flow of dynamic energy. 

High Seas 
Overlaid synth patterns, like waves, propel us into a mixed-percussion drop that settles on a harmonic calm before another surge of synth arpeggios drive us farther along into the thrilling sensation of voyage. 
		
Whale
Disembodied vocals, like cetaceans communicating, echo each other, creating a ghostly undercurrent to the vigorous percussion and futuristic synth arpeggios. 

Darko
Backed by an eerie melody and punctuated by a lead-heavy bass drum, a deep, guttural voice plunges us into the dark flow of time.

Spectral in theme and profoundly engaged with the sensorial quality of music, Sainte Vie’s EP transports the listener to a place that feels distant like uncharted waters, yet familiar like a memory.

These meta worlds formed a connection on the plain from Berlin to Chiang Mai within this set, representing Riyoons resume of his decade in Berlin. It contains new inspiration as well as collaborations, lots of fresh material which has never seen the light of day before. One half of this musical cake was baked with a never released mix whilst the other was inspired by the chef himself. Please do enjoy this epic meal!

Some labels slowly develop their brand, taking years to build a steady fan base, and some like Frau Blau come along and make a huge statement from the first release, and somehow make every release bigger than the last.

Frau Blue is only up to its 8th release here, but is always a creating a buzz, with huge DJ support from the Worlds elite, and loved by clubbers of the dance-floors around the Globe.

The inevitably cool Re.You returns to the label, and collaborates with Frau Blau label boss Kadosh. The Berlin based Re.You has graced Cocoon, Mobilee and Souvenir, proving his esteemed status within the underground dance music scene. Kadosh is one of Tel Avivs biggest DJ's with his music gracing Innervisions, Watergate Records, Aeon and Upon.You. the musical meeting of these minds was always going to be something special.

The title track 'Not The Last Words' is a wonderful voyage. deep and hypnotic, laced with tripped out and infectious percussion, before th big subby bass adds further depth and mystique. As this track unfurls its magic, we meet the top line that encapsulates your mind, before returning to the deep groove.

Stepping up on remix duties we have 'Armonica', the talented duo formed by Andrea and Salvatore. With their music landing on MoBlack and Stil Vor Talent, these boys are hot property. Their interoperation adds energy, and creates a wonderful groove, laced with the original melodic and percussive elements, yet taking the vibe in a different direction.

The second original is 'Friendly Fire'. A punchy club workout, that will melt minds. Driving and infectious, this is a solid number that doesn't hold back!

Rounding off this package, the hugely talented Lehar delivers a fine remix. With releases on Diynamic, Compost Black, Connaisseur Endless and Watergate, he was the perfect choice for this reworking. keeping the energy from the original but bringing them to the afore, and adding a magical arp, and giving the bass a melodic movement - this will seriously catch your attention.
