Groove Delight - The Voices [FEATURE019]

Set recorded while mixing at Waha Festival 2016's Psy Stage, Romania. Played after Astral Projection, Saturday 23rd of July, starting around 10 PM. The entire performance was slightly over 2 hours, but due to some error the recording stoped at 1h41min, BPM range being 143-145. Was a memorable night!

Thibaut L, was born in 1983 and grew up in Paris, France. His musical career began at the age of 5 when he decided learn piano at a Parisian music school.
At a young age Thibaut had an open ear to several genres of music such as metal, indus, ebm, rock, jungle etc… While traveling to koh phangan Thailand, at a beach party he made his first encounter with psychedelic trance. This was the sound that Thibaut had been searching for all his human existence. At this moment in time “Plasmotek” project was born, and was anxious to get back to France to build the studio to begin composing his own creations and sounds.

Thibaut began djing in Paris’s local underground trance parties. In 2005 he released his first track on Mandala Rec and shortly after Plasmotek live was ready to rock international dance floors. Today, with his refreshing album (lifted) released on mandala records and numerous tracks on multiple labels (24/7 records, timecode records…) plasmotek has established himself an upcoming, unique and fresh live act from France. His sound is described as deep mechanical full-on trance, balanced between techno and trance.

Compiled by Blisargon Demogorgon, this CD represents his selection of the modern night time psychedelic sound that has been tested on the dancefloors around the globe. The project took a year to complete and involved listening to numerous tracks but ultimately selecting only the very finest to appear on special release. “Challenge from Beyond” features both well-known artists such as Dohm, Terratech, Farebi Jalebi, Silent Horror, Malkaviam, LAB, Blisargon Demogorgon, Shadow Noises, Hagenith, as well as up-and-coming names like Anubian and Oddpass. The compilation can be treated as a story from beginning to end, starting with deep atmospheric psychedelia and gradually diving into more dynamic music, which is sure to keep the dancefloor moving.

We really hope this compilation will satisfy your psychedelic needs and you will enjoy listening to it as much as Blisargon Demogorgon enjoyed putting this selection together.

Mychorrhizal Concept unfolds the second chapter between the two artists, a streamlined vision of their production therapy. 
They project an extended play of psychedelic trance which reveals their peculiar research of deep, dark and foresty sounds. 
The experiment: They carefully created an alchemy of technological urban sounds with the existent organic matter. 
Their first three glittering tunes, envelope around a modern approach in the creation of spectral waves. 
A splash of crispy arpeggiated leads, derived from experimenting outside of the quantization realm of their groovy basslines. 
The final outro brings the listener to their actual essence of break-time rhythms. 
Mychorrhizal Concept is a fusion of the two brains at play, a catalyst of it's own form, entangled in between their cohesion.

This is the sound of the magic forest at Waha Festival (Romania), taken with a field recorder down the hill below the psy stage, close to the river, on Saturday night. The music of several floors reverberates back and forth in the forest on the opposite hill (which is shaped almost like an amphi-theatre). I cut the low frequencies (bass from the psy floor) and the highest ones (crickets). Occasionally you will hear a clicking of my flash light or somebody zipping their tents nearby. The white noise is produced by the river. Close your eyes and enjoy.
