April 22, 2024 | This set is special for a few reasons:  

🎶  First, I’m releasing it on my beautiful mama’s birthday. She won’t see this and I’m pretty sure she still wishes I was a reggaeton or cumbia DJ, but a love for music is something we’ve always shared.

 💖  The number 6 actually has symbolism representing family, home, compassion and a nurturing nature. It’s viewed as a motherly number embodying selflessness & protection, so the coincidence of releasing this set from home isn’t lost on me. 

⚡️ Second, this is my first set ever incorporating one of my own originals. I have two tracks now and I’m yet to play them out. This one is a remix of an Undercurrent track that will be out this Thursday - and my remix will follow soon on Spotify. You can catch a little preview at minute 58. Lots more to come production wise 🚀  

 🎢  And last but not least… The music scene can be a rollercoaster—some days you're riding high after a big show, other days it's rejection and disappointment. When I put this set together, I was in one of those lows. I didn’t overthink genres or force tracks — I just let the emotions flow. It reminded me why I love making these sets: they’re an outlet. This one’s a mix of bottled-up creativity and frustration—low tempo in parts, moody in others, with a burst of energy at the end. But overall I love its flow and hope you will too!

Higher state Vol 09 (Progressive house, Melodic house)

The seventeenth edition of the Ambedo series. Ambedo describes a momentary trance of emotional clarity. These monthly mixes are collections of tracks that have brought me a sense of pure experience and aliveness :)

What stood out to me in this one is the beautiful, angelic vocals throughout several of the tracks, interspersed with instrumental tracks that carried their own vocal-like melodies. I think the new SG Lewis track is a song of the summer candidate, and I've been waiting for "Different" to come out for a while now. It was a pleasure to include those in this edition. 

This mix also features a Lorde x Sultan + Shepard mashup I made that has gotten a great response whenever I play it in front of a crowd!

So grateful to return to one of the greatest clubs on Earth: Audio SF. In my early years living in the Bay, I was regularly on that dance floor. To now be behind the decks, playing direct support for Simon Doty, was a dream come true. 

This was my first ever direct support slot, and I poured everything into it. Over four months of digging, refining, and preparing - hundreds of hours of curation distilled into one hour of music.

PREMIERE: Federico Epis - Once Again (Original Mix) [STRANGE TOWN RECORDINGS]

In May, I released my first ever track on Spotify - my remix of Lights Down Low by the Undercurrent. That was a huge milestone for me personally, but I didn't get to do one of these extended recorded sets so it felt good to get back to it for June. This past month I had 4 shows including opening for Mont Rouge and Rafael Cerato. Those were both b2b's, and this set is almost a blend of a lot of the tracks I played in those sets even though they were two very different styles - one more melodic afro house and the other melodic techno.
